They are the first family of Marvel and would change the face of comic forever. Introduced in Fantastic Four #1 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, you guys shoud know the origins of this team. When Reed Richard’s experimental rocket was detained by NASA, he, his fiance, Sue Storm, her younger brother, Johnny and Reed’s best friend, Ben Grimm, stole the rocket and blasted off into space. However, while in space, they encountered a cosmic storm that bombarded them with cosmic radiation, they were forced to crash land on Earth. Escaping the rocket, they found that the radiation had transformed their bodies. Reed can stretch and mold his body anyway he wished. Sue could turn invisible (and later project forcefields). Johnny could engulf himself in flame and fly. Ben was transformed into a rock cover being. Together they vowed to use their new gifts for the betterment of mankind. Together, they became the Fantastic Four, getting on the man of Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Girl (later Woman), Human Torch and the Thing respectively.

Let’s be clear. The Fantastic Four are a team in name only. They are foremost a family. But every family needs some time apart or away from adventuring. Thus the F4 have invited other to fill-in for a missing member. The first to do this was Crystal who was dating Johnny at the time and took over Sue’s role while she was pregnant with Franklin and after when she was taking care of him. Her sister, Medusa, was next when Sue and Reed had a flying out after he used an experiment gun on his son to stop his powers going out of control and putting Franklin into a coma. When Ben was cured of being the Thing, Reed hired Luke Cage to take his place. Johnny later began dating another fire user in Frankie Reyes, becoming a pair of Human Torches, but she left when she volunteered to be Galactus’ herald as Nova.

After Secret Wars and with Ben remaining on Battleworld because he had control over his form, he recommended She-Hulk, as his replacement. She would go on to hold the longest tenure on the team after the core four. Later Reed and Sue took some time off to raise their son, so Crystal came back to the team and Ben invited his then lover, Sharon Ventura, aka Ms. Marvel to the team. She would later be turned into the She-thing. When a Skrull spy took the form of Sue and would make Spider-man, Hulk, Wolverine and Ghost Rider (Ketch), believe Mole Man had attack the four. They teamed uo to become the short lived NEW Fantastic Four. She would later become the She-Thing. After Reed was believed dead (but in reality was trapped in Doom’s body), Sue broke Scott Lang’s Ant-man into the team as their tech advisor. Johnny would begin dating Namorita, who would accompany the team becoming an unofficial members.

Sue and Reed left to repair their marriage after their falling out from the Civil War and offered Black Panther and his then wife, Storm, a place to stay and on the team when the Wakanda embassy was destroyed. During Secret Invasion, Franklin and his sister Valeria became official members of the team later under the names Powerhouse and Brainstorm respectively. The hero Flux was given honorary membership in the team before his death, along with membership with the Avengers. When the F4 left to explore the universe, they brought Ant-man, Medusa and She-Hulk back to replace them with Ms. Thing joining the team. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur were given membership when she helped Ben and Johnny track down Skrulls that had framed the team. When every member of the team came back to help the Four, it was revealed that Iceman have been a member at some point but this is up to debate. During the Reckoning War, Jack Of Heart joined his then girlfriend She-Hulk as a member of the team.
