What happens when take death too likely? That was the question Nightcrawler asked. Introduced in Legion of X #1 (2022) by Simon Spurrier and Jan Bazaldua, Nightcrawler was concerned that mutant were becoming flippant with their lives and death with the Krakoa Protocols, with mutant that were killed being resurrected almost instantly. So, he wanted to create a religion that respected the sanctity of life. At the same time, Legion was aware that Onslaught had snuck into the island nation thanks to Orchis and approached Nightcrawler for help against the Psionic being. Thus, the pair recruited volunteers that would act as not only priest but also a Police force. Members included Blindfold, Blob, Fabian Cortez, Lost, Xorn, Zorn, Gorgon, Chamber, Maggott, Pixie, Dr. Nemesis, Dust, Juggernaut, Banshee, Birdy, Glob Herman, Husk, Stacy X, Pixie and…..I feel like I’m forgetting someone.
