There’s people with Multiple Personalities and then there’s Legion. Introduced in New Mutants #26 (1985) (but mentioned the issue before) by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, David Haller is the son of Charles Xavier and Gabrielle Haller, a woman Charles was involved with while serving in Israel. Charles left without even knowing Gabrielle was pregnant and she choice to keep this from him. David grew up in Paris but witnessed the murder of his step-father by terrorists. This caused his powers to activate killing the terrorist and absorbing their leader’s minds. This event caused David to develop multiple personalities, each with their own minds and powers.

Becoming catatonic and autistic, David was sent to Muir Island to get the help of Moira Mactaggart. She summoned Xavier and, after an incident with the New Mutants, Xavier learnt that he was his son. Taking the name Legion, he would remain on Muir Island but one of his personalities would help him escape a number of times. He would later use his powers to kill Destiny. Skipping a bit, wanting to get his father’s vision of peaceful co-existence of Mutants and Humans, Legion used his powers to travel back in time to kill Magneto, which he believed was the cause of Mutant hatred. However, he accidentally killed his father, resulting in the Age of Apocalypse timeline. Bishop of that universe was sent back in time to prevent this and made Legion realise his mistake. Legion killed himself after to fix his mistake.

His body was later found by the New Mutants and he would be revived, where upon he would join the X-men on Utopia. He would eventually leave the X-men but would return to aid them when X-man changed the world into the Age of X universe. He would join the rest of the Mutant-kind on Krakoa.

Legion has been a character that a good number of people have been asking for, particularly since he had a TV series for a while or as part of a AOA wave. He would receive an official figure as part of the second wave of AOA figures, making it the only figure from that series that is NOT from the AOA universe.

Background:
- During his early appearances, David was mostly seen as being treated for his condition. As such most of his early appearances has him usually in a hospital gown. The hair design is mostly his idea though.
Why you need it for your collection?:
- Being the only figure not from the AOA universe from this wave, you can get this figure if you only collect the Prime universe figures. It is needed for X-men (villains and members) as well as part of the New Mutants.
