Marvel is always trying to bring the original back together as their own team. Bendis took it literally. Introduced in All-New X-Men #1 (2012) by Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen, after Cyclops went renegade following AVX, Beast, suffering from effects of his third mutation, wanted to make his old friend see sense. Then he remembered what they were like as teens and got the idea to show Scott he has lost his way by….. bringing their past selfs to the present. Thus he went back in time and brought a teenage Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Angel, Beast and Iceman to the present……. much to the shock and horror of everyone. After they confronted Cyclops, they decided to stay in the present to try and fix things with Kitty Pryde taking them under her wings. Angel would eventually leave the team to join the Renegade X-men.

Following a battle with a future Brotherhood of Mutants, Kitty had enough of the lack of trust and respect from the rest of Wolverine’s team and took the team to join Cyclops’ renegade team. While there, they gained new costumes with Angel rejoining them and X-23, later Wolverine, joining when they rescued her from some Purifiers. Cyclops would eventually leave the team to join the Starjammers but would return to the team after the Black Vortex arc. After the Secret War and the eight month time skip, Jean quit to go to college, eventually joining the Gold team, and Cyclops left the team because he was sickened at what his adult version did…. which turned out to be Emma Frost psychic construction. None the least, Beast led the team with Oya (now Temper) and Genesis (Evan Sabahnur), as well as a bamf named Pickles. Cyclops would eventually rejoin, splitting his time with this team and the Champions.

After a bit if time travel mishaps along with the returning Jean, the team came under the care of Magneto with Danger as their blackbird. Eventually Jimmy Hudson, the Ultimate Universe’s Wolverine’s son, would be found by the team and joined them. A battle with the Hex-men saw Bloodstorm, a vampire Storm, betraying her team and joining the team. During the Poison’s invasion, Jimmy was assimilated by the Poison and left the team. Bloodstorm would eventually be killed. After Extermination, the X-men decided enough was enough and decided to return to their own time. Once they did, their adult version gained all their memories of their adventures, with Cyclops remembering his time as a member of the Champions.
