While she may not be the first TV Cartoon character to be brought into the comics, she has proved to be Marvel’s most successful one. Introduced in the X-men:Evolution cartoon by Craig Yost, she was brought into the comics in NYX #3 (2004). X-23 is the twenty third clone of Wolverine, made by the Facility. She was made in order to make the perfect soldier. However, her mother tried to give her a bit of compassion. A vengeful colleague installed a trigger scent into her which drove her into a murderous rage, killing everything in sight. Having set this off in the Facility, she went on to kill her mother and other scientist and then escaped. She took on the name Laura Kinney after her mother.

She then went onto track down her father, Wolverine, and eventually went to the Xavier Institute, where she became a member of the X-men-in-training, the New X-men (not to be confused with Grant Morrison’s version of the X-men comic). She remained with that team until the Messiah Complex where she was place in the Uncanny X-Force team by Cyclops, against Wolverine’s wishes. After the Schism arc, she was placed in Avengers Academy, where she built a great relationship with the team. She was one of the teenagers kidnapped by Arcade in Avengers Arena, which had a great and tragic impact on her. She wandered around for a bit before joining the All-New X-men team. After Wolverine’s death, she took up the mantle after the Secret Wars. Since his return, she has given up the mantle.

Because of her lesser role in the comics, we haven’t had many X-23. TB did 2 but neither of them were based on the comic version (though one was really close) but that was mainly because she was extremely new to the comics. Hasbro released a X-force version in their MU line which they decided to release in the ML line in the same costume. They then release her Wolverine version in the Sauron wave.

Background:
- Before she joined the X-men and after escaping the Facility, X-23 worked as an assassin for hire for criminals like the Kingpin. She wore this costume to complete these assignments.
Why you need it for your collection?:
- Okay, guys. I’m going to be honest. Neither one of the X-23s are worth getting. The one shown here is the closest to comic book accurate than the regular one.

Background:
- During the Messiah Complex, X-23 was place in a team of trackers by Cyclops. After that, against Wolverine’s wishes, she was placed in the preemptive strike force, X-Force by Cyclops. They all wore similar of Black and grey.
Why you need it for your collection?:
- If you want to have a full team of Uncanny X-force character to go along with the other X-force member then you will have to get this. This is also essential for any Wolverine fans and X-men fans.

- No.

Background:
- After the death of Logan and 8 months after the Secret Wars, Laura took up the mantle of Wolverine in honor of her father. This costume is essentially a female version of Logan’s Astonishing X-men costume.
Why you need it for your collection?:
- Laura actually had a good run as Wolverine. This figure is a great looking figure which has been asked for by a number of fans. It is needed for your X-men collection as well as Wolverine collections. This is the one I recommend getting if you have to have only one version of a character.
