All Jean wanted to do was to makes mutants recognized as a nation. Cassandra Nova had other ideas. Introduced in X-Men: Red #1 (2018) (but officially formed in the fourth issue of that same series) by Tom Taylor and Mahmud Asrar, after Jean Grey was revived….. again, she wanted to approach the UN Council and have them recognise mutant-kind as a nation and bring them into the UN to work for a more peaceful future. She told Nightcrawler about this, who volunteered to be her support and protection. However, after she gave her speech, Cassandra Nova framed her for the death of UK ambassador. Nightcrawler teleport her, along with Wolverine (Kinney) and Honey Badger, who were there to watch the speech, to Wakanda.

Soon they went to save an Indian mutant known as Trinary but soon found out she was being attacked by Storm, who they learned was being controlled by Cassandra’s Sentinites. When Storm tried to kill herself under orders from the Sentinites, she was rescue saved by Gentle. The group purged the Sentinites from Storm and they went underwater, where Namor offered them sanctuary. Together with Gambit and Sentinel-X, Jean formed a new team to the sake of her Mutant nation. Working out of X-Lantis, they worked together to find those affected by the sentinites, including Teen Abomination, as well as clearing her name and defeating Cassandra Nova.
