Hey, my fellow Plastic Addicts. First of all, if you haven’t voted for what Missing Legends you want for of Doomsday month, you can vote below on one of the polls below or here – Announcements – Doomsday Month. You don’t have to vote in all of them, but do vote for the one you want. You have until Monday to vote. But let’s start off the month as we usually do with an Ideal Wave. I’m going to be honest with you, I found making this wave extremely hard. That is because this movie isn’t just an Avengers movie. It is an X-men, Thunderbolts and F4 movie. I did make a few wave for it but my god did I not like them at all. I tried to include characters from all the teams. I tried to make it only Avengers. I tried to include characters that were already made. None of them look like they were up to my usual standard to the ones you guys like.

But then I thought, the marketing for all the movie is focusing on one person. Victor Von Doom. Dr. Doom. Once I realise that I sat down and thought. After I did, the perfect wave formed in my mind. A full Dr. Doom and/or Latveria wave. You could even think of this as a Bring on the Bad Guy wave as the majority of characters are villains, expect for one or two. Now, I’m not expect Hasbro to ever make this kind of wave, but you know something, This is my Ideal Doom wave and I wanted to share it. Let me know what you think. (And yes I know I have a lack of Green in this wave.)

Theme of the Wave: Dr. Doom.

As for why I picked each of them. (As always, if it’s using the same body, just assume that the head is new.) Anything with a link will bring you to the character or Missing Legends page.

• Dr. Doom (Von Doom) – For the main character, I thought it would be easy to have him as the figure without a BAF so I said he should be an easy repaint, particularly a Future Foundation version of his classic costume that was supposed to be released but never materialised. (No. The Xemnu wave was God Emperor Doom not this one.) Not much more to say expect it will be a complete repaint.
• Doom (New Ultimate) – For the next character, I wanted another version of Doom. I also wanted to include a member of the F4, particularly Reed. So then I thought why not combine the two and thanks to the NEW Ultimate universe we had that. Thus I picked Ultimate Doom. (I was going to go with the Old Doom but…. goat’s feet.) This would be a standard mold since a lot of the design is painted on his suit.
• Kristoff Vernard – For the next character, I WAS going to do a Doom version of Kristoff Vernard, Doom’s adopted son but the I saw the image above and I knew this would be an easier figure to make. Simply because Doom himself as given us the mold for this design, the Doomsday concept Lord Doom (I’m expecting that mold to be used for many General types eventually.
• Morgan Le Fay – Now for the ladies of the wave and we start with Doom frequent lover and more than often his sworn enemy. I had to include a magic character in this wave and this was perfect. When I was thinking of who to include, she was the second one to come to mind. This would use the new standard female mold.
• Valeria – For the next lady of the wave, of course I had to include Doom’s goddaughter. Come on. In modern comics, you can’t talk about Doom without mentioning his absolute love and devotion to Valeria Richards. She is one of the few people that Doom would do anything to protect. This of course would be a straight repaint of the 2-pack version (with a new head) in the Future Foundation suit to match Doom.
• Servo-Guards – Sorry about the unreleased figure picture. Trying to find a clean image of this was hard. For the next figure I thought a Doom wave needed a Bot and instead of a Doombot, I wanted to make a Servo-Bots. Toybiz was going to released a version of it years ago but it never actually materialised. This would use the Luke Cage/Doc Samson mold
• Dreadknight – and lastly is a character people have been asking Hasbro to re-release or more importantly remake for a while, Dreadknight, who is actually Latverian. This would require mostly a new sculpt with new chainmail arms.
• Hellhorse – for the BAF of this wave, like most waves, I have choosen one that has a connection for one of the figures in the wave, that being Dreadknight’s Hellhorse (I don’t think he actually has a name.) Yes. I know we are getting Web-Slinger’s horse but because of the wings, I think it would require more work to make it possible. So I made it a baf. (Besides it’s a dream wave anyway.
