The life of a window washer in the Marvel Universe must be a dangerous life with all the heroes and villains flying around. That’s why Hobie Brown invented wrist and anklet bracelets to make their jobs easier. Introduced in Amazing Spider-Man #78 (1969) by Stan Lee, John Buscema and John Romita, Jr (who was only 13 at the time!), Hobie was then fired from his job and needing money, decided to become a burglar using his gadget, which he decided to upgrade. However, he refused to hurt people. After a few run-ins with Spidey, he turned away from crime and became a hero. Because of this, Spider-man began to trust him so much that he ask Hobie to impersonate him in order to protect his identity.
He later fought Spidey, when it was believed he killed Captain Stacy and later White Tiger (Hector Ayala) when the police believed he had killed Brown’s brother. He later began working with Silver Sable and a number of reformed villains to form the Outlaws. He was later paralysed from the waist down but got better. He refused to register to the government and was arrested during the Civil War. After the recent Secret Wars, he got a job in Parker Industries, where he was asked to impersonate Spider-man in order for the public not to realise that Spidey and Peter were the same person. He was believed killed by the recent female Electro and cloned but was found alive after all the clones were destroyed.
Prowler has been a character that has been asked for since the TB days. He had been asked for many year. Now, not only do we get one version but we also get another one in the form of Spider-punk. Technically we had a number of figure of him since the Spider-man (Classics and Parker Industries) can be used for him.

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends Spider-man Lizard Wave Prowler
- Background:
- Brown designed this costume after he was fired from his job, which he was only doing for earning money. He designed it so it could hide his identity and make it easier to break into houses as well as adding gas pellets and grappling hooks.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- This has been a figure that been asked for a while. He has been a long time supporter of Spidey so he is needed for your Spidey display and would work in your street level display. Also if you are getting Spider-Punk then this could be used next to him.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No.
Spider-man Stand-in

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends Spider-man Hobgoblin Wave Spider-Man / Marvel Legends Vintage Wave 1 Spider-man
- Background:
- During a delusional illness where he believed he was dying, Peter Parker mistakenly told his friend he was Spider-man. Recovering, he asked Hobie to impersonate Spider-man by swinging around college campus so that his friend would believe Peter was lying. It wouldn’t be the first time he did this.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- If you are buying this for Prowler, then it would be a good idea but no. There is no need to get this for Prowler. Beside you probably have some version of this as your standard Spidey.
- Does it need a remake?:
- See my answer to the one in Spider-man’s NCS.
Parker Industries Spider-man Stand-In

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Toy-R-Us Marvel Legends Spider-man 2-Pack Spider-man with Mary-Jane Watson
- Background:
- After the latest Secret Wars, while Peter was globetrotting around the world, Prowler was impersonating Spider-man (still not knowing his true identity) in order for Peter to make people think that Peter and Spider-man weren’t the same person.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- Another figure that you shouldn’t buy for Hobie, this isn’t a central figure for Prowler to stand with.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No.

Below you will find a gallery of suits that still need to be made. I have included what I think are the possibilities of them being made. Note that these are my personal opinions and not fact. Please let me know if I have missed anything.
