With their time traveling abilities, we was only a matter of time before Kang and Immortus brought some of old “dead” villains and allies together. Introduced in Avengers #131 (1974) by Steve Englehart, Sal Buscema, Roy Thomas and Paul Ryan, after Kang add a run in with his alternate self, Rama-Tut, he found himself in Limbo and used Immortus’ devices to pull various people who were believed dead at the time. These included Midnight, Baron Heinrich Zemo, Frankenstein’s Monster, The Flying Dutchman, the Original Human Torch and Wonder Man. They were sent against the Avengers but of course were defeated.

Many years later, Immortus would form his own Legion of the Unliving and would send them against the West Coast Avengers. These were not only from the past but from the future and alternate universes as well. The members included Black Knight (Garrett), Grim Reaper, Iron Man 2020, Left-Winger, Right-Winger, Oort the Living Comet, Swordsman, and Toro, the original Human Torch’s sidekick who believed himself to be Hammond. They were used as a distraction as Immortus carried out his plan and instantly dismissed when he was done with them.
