I suppose the X-men were going to have a tournament arc eventually. Introduced in X of Swords: Creation #1 (2020) by Jonathan Hickman and Tini Howard, when Arrako forces invaded the Otherworld, Apocalypse led a number of X-men to protect it. They were ambushed by the First Horsemen and the Summoner which led to a battle. In order to stop the fighting, Saturyne proposed a tournament between the two factions, Known as X Of Swords. Nine members from Krakoa, each with some form of sword mastery, when about gathering their swords from across the world and in other dimensions, like hell. For Krakoa, their champions were Apocalypse, Cable, Captain Avalon, Captain Britain, Cypher, Gorgon, Magik, Storm and Wolverine. Through a series of contests, Krakoa eventually won the tournament.
