In many ways they are the ones that free the most important character in the Age of Apocalypse. Introduce in X-Man #1 (1995) by Jeph Loeb and Steve Skroce, The Outcasts were created when Forge had parted company with Magneto’s team. The group would consist of Mastermind, Toad, Sauron and the Brute. They travel across America, putting on shows and aiding mutants as they went. They would eventually be joined by Nate Grey, X-man. They were eventually joined by Sonique (AOA’s Siryn) as well as the man known as Essex. However Essex turned out to be Sinister who joined the group only to watch over his creation, Nate, and push him to fulfill his role of killing Apocalypse. In a battle with Apocalypse’s minions, Toad and Brute were killed and Mastermind was incarcerated . Sinister would then killed Forge, who Nate considered like a father. After Nate was sent to the 616 universe, Sauron and Sonique would go onto just Sinister’s Six.
