He is one of the world’s most powerful mutant but he comes from an alternate universe. Introduced in X-Man #1 (1995) by Jeph Loeb and Steve Skroce, the mutant who would become Nate Grey comes from the Age of Apocalypse universe. There, he was a clone created by Mr. Sinister, using the DNA of that universe’s Scott Summers and Jean Grey. He eventually escaped and came under the tutelage of Forge. An event that led Forge being killed, Sinister convinced Nate to battle Apocalypse. While battling Holocaust for the M’Kraan Crystal, Nate stabbed a piece of the crystal into Holocaust’s chest just as the world changed back into the real world, causing both of them to end up in the Prime Universe.

After getting adjusted to Prime Universe, he eventually went to New York, where he had a relationship with Threnody and a friendship with Spider-man. During Operation: Zero Tolerance, he rescued Jean Grey’s sister and family. Keeping a low profile, he eventually battle Abomination. After a few more battles, Nate became a celebrity and later a sort of Messiah to people but had to erased their memories after he was falsely accused as a terrorist by Purple Man.

He next teamed up with Spider-man to battle Psi-Ops and then battle the Great Beast in Switzerlmand. He would battled Stryfe, in order to prevent a future where they both destroyed the world. He soon returned to being a messiah after saving a suicidal woman in London. He would then visit Scott and Jean, who he would form a bond and consider them his parent. He would join with them as a member of the X-men to defend the M anites against Death. He would later be kidnapped by the Skrulls and Apocalypse. Apocalypse was going to his mind and spirit to Nate but was prevented in doing so by Cyclops, who dove in front of him and absorbed Apocalypse, believing to have killed him. This cause Nate to use his powers to help people and become a Messiah to a mutant cult. His powers would eventually cause he to died. He would eventually be found by Norman Osborn and his Dark X-men as a psychic being before gaining physical form. He was strapped to a machine that drain his powers allowing to continue living. He joined New Mutants and began a relationship with Dani Moonstar.

Out of all the Age of Apocalypse character that have been requested in ML form, Nate has been one of, if not, the most requested character of that universe, mostly because he became a character in the Prime Universe. Thus when Hasbro announced that they are doing a AOA line for the 25 aniversary, everyone knew that he was coming, being the first character announced.

  • Background:
    • This is Nate Grey’s original costume and would become his signature costume, despite it not been worn much since he came to the Prime Universe.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • With the launch of the AOA wave, this one is an absolute essential for that, if you want to collect and display all from that universe (which we actually have quite a few). If you have no interest in the AOA, this is needed for all X-men collections, including the 90’s X-men. It can be also be gotten for a Spider-man allies collection, especially if they do a Insulted suit costume.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.

Needs

Below you will find a gallery of suits that still need to be made. I have included what I think are the possibilities of them being made. Note that these are my personal opinions and not facts. Please let me know if I have missed anything.
