His father is also his son. Time Paradox hurt my head. Introduced in Longshot #1 (1985) by Ann Nocenti, Arthur Adams and Carl Potts, Longshot comes from universe ruled by the Spineless Ones, their leader being Mojo. Mojo used TV to control his minions, creating various program using genetic clones for their entertainment. The clones creator Arize eventually planned to use these clones to rise up against Mojo. Using the DNA of Shatterstar, who is in reality Longshot and Dazzler’s son sent back in time, he created Longshot. Like all the clones, Longshot was forced to work for Mojo but would eventually rise up against him.

Unsuccessful in defeating Mojo, Longshot eventually found himself on Earth. Mojo would follow him to Earth and would kidnap and capture his friend, Ricochet Rita, transforming her into Spiral. Longshot went back to the Mojoverse and was on the verge of defeating Mojo until Mojo teleported him back to Earth. He would eventually be found by the X-men, where he met and fell in love with Dazzler. Longshot would remain with the X-men for year before eventually returning to the Mojoverse with Dazzler to fight against Mojo. The two were eventually married and were blessed with a child but were made to forget the baby who was sent 100 years into the future and grew up to become Shatterstar. After believing to have killed Mojo, they would remain in the Mojoverse to raise the X-babies but it was believed that Longshot was killed later when Dazzler returned to Earth by herself.

However, it was revealed that he was alive and captured by Mojo. He was rescued by the Exiles and would join the team soon after, but at the price of his memories. The team would eventually arrive on the Prime Earth where they teamed up with the New Excalibur, where he was reunited with his wife. However, his memory loss eventually cause them to break up and he would go onto join the X-Factor Investigations. He would remain with that team until they disband. His most recent appearance was when Mojo travelled to New York to try and turn it into his world. He aided the X-men in defeating the tyrant but Mojo escaped and was stuck in the Prime universe. He has since being trying to hunt him down.

Though he was one of the main X-men throughout most of the 80/90, Longshot has had very few figures over the year. His only Marvel Legends (so far) was part of the Mojo series.

Classic

Recommend Figure:  Hasbro Pulse Exclusive Marvel Legends Mojo World Box set – Longshot with Mojo, Dazzler and Wolvie II OR X-men Retro wave 2 – Longshot

  • Background:
    • This is Longshot as he appeared in his original series right up until he joined the X-factor Investigation team. As I always say, it has been drawn differently by different artists over the years.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • This is one that most X-men fans will want for their collection especially if you had gotten the vintage Dazzler figure. He will also be needed for an Exiles collection as he was on the team for quite a while. I recommend getting the Retro wave version as it’s much cheaper.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.

Needs

Below you will find a gallery of suits that still need to be made. I have included what I think are the possibilities of them being made. Note that these are my personal opinions and not fact. Please let me know if I have missed anything.
