Her explosive personality match her code-name. All of them. Introduced in Secret Wars II #5 (1985) by Jim Shooter and Al Milgrom, Tabitha Smith originally appeared when she ran away from home and befriended the Beyonder. After helping the X-men and Avengers defeat him, she eventually wound up under the tutelage of the original X-Factor and became member of the short lived X-Terminators team. She eventually joined the New Mutants. When Cable took over and the team eventually became the X-force, Boom Boom was a core member taking on other names like Boomer and later Meltdown. She would even have a relationship with Cannonball.
She would remain with the team even under Pete Wisdom’s leadership. After the team disbanded, she joined Cable in taking down the Weapon X program in their Neverland compound. She later became a member of Nextwave. After that team was disband (or erased from existence or memories, I’m not sure which), she joined most of the X-men in San Fransico, where she was kidnapped by the Leper Queen and was saved by the Uncanny X-Force. She later helped Domino when Cable’s X-Force team. Eventually becoming tired of all the fighting and wanting to be left alone, She joined the Utopians, based on the old X-men based the Utopia Island. They were eventually approached by the All-New X-men, and offered a place at Jean Grey’s School.
Even though she was appeared in all of the cartoons, particularly Evolution where she played a major supporting role, Boom Boom is not really know outside of the comics by casual fans. However, for Legends fans, while not up there with many other character, she has been asked for because they want to complete the original X-Force them. As such, Hasbro put her in their first X-force wave in order to build that team.

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends X-force Wendigo Wave Boom-Boom
- Background:
- After Cable took over the New Mutants and the arrival of Shatterstar, the team became X-Force. As such, they all redesigned their costumes to reflect this. Here is Boom Boom, although she instantly changed her name to Boomer after.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- Hasbro are on a role with them trying to get as many team as they can done. If you got the Sasquatch wave Cable and the Warlock wave Shatterstar and are getting the Cannonball in this wave, they you have to get this in order to complete that version of the team. It can also be used for your X-men collections. While she was a member of other teams, she didn’t wear this costume but it can be used for Nextwave if you really want.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No.
