Even though she was originally created for Spider-woman (comic got cancelled before she was introduced), she has since become one of Spider-man most endearing ally (or villain depending on her mood). Introduced in Amazing Spider-Man #194 (1979) by Marv Wolfman and Keith Pollard, Felicia Hardy idolized her father, who was a world famous cat burglar. After an incident in college involving a male student, Felicia trained herself to become strong and skilled in stealing. She first met Spider-man when she tried to break her father out of prison. She grew fond of of Spider-man and eventually became attracted to him. They soon began a relationship, with Cat becoming his partner, fighting against crime. When Peter reveal his identity, Cat had difficulty accepting it and she revealed that she was in love with Spider-man not Peter Parker.
Cat eventually gain the power of Bad Luck from the Kingpin. These power eventually led to them breaking up but with the help of Dr. Strange, her power were decreased and they resumed their relationship. After Spidey was framed for murder and Cat worked to double cross the Foreigner, Cat moved to Europe which caused Peter to begin a relationship with Mary Jane. She returned and discovered that Peter had married MJ and became extremely jealous and harassed the couple and began dating Flash Thompson to make Peter jealous. However, she eventually began to fall in love with Flash but he broke it off with her. Around this time she was kidnapped by Arcade alongside Wolverine. She later began a relationship with Puma but they broke up after Peter revealed his identity to the world and he noticed she still had feeling for Peter.
She was one of the heroes that sign the Registration Act and joined up with Misty Knight’s Heroes for Hire. She, like most of the world, lost her knowledge of Spider-man’s identity but began a no string attached relationship when they fought Diablo. She was forced to work for Sasha Kravenoff during the Grim Hunt when her mother was kidnapped. After rescuing him from Dr. Tramma, she became friends with Mary Jane. She later had a brief relationship with Daredevil. During when Doc Ock was in Peter’s body as the Superior Spider-man, he captured her and she was arrested. This cause her to lose everything she ever worked for. She swore revenge on Spider-man, not realizing it wasn’t Peter who had her arrested. She eventually escaped prison and worked to become a crimelord by manipulating villains to doing her work. She held this position for quite a while until an encounter with Maniac (Lee Price) cause her to team up with Spider-man, Venom and Agent Anti-Venom. She has since seem to have given up her revenge on Spider-man.
Despite being one of Spider-man most famous allies and a frequent lover, Black Cat hasn’t had much figures over the years. Toybiz released a figure as part of the Sinister Six box set (Don’t ever buy that figure). It was years before Hasbro released their own (and far superior) version in the first Marvel Legends Spider-man wave (Ultimate Green Goblin) in her classic version. She would later get a Crime Lord version in the Kingpin wave.
Have
Classic

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends Amazing Spider-man 2 Ultimate Green Goblin wave Skyline Siren Black Cat
- Background:
- Black Cat in her more classic costume. It has been changed over the years, like the fur parts being longer or her cleavage being more or less noticeable but as always that depends on the artist. Speaking of her cleavage (yes I am going there), it is actually designed by Felicia as a way to distract her opponents, similar to how Punisher uses the skull on his chest as a target.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- This is the figure you have to have if you want to have one Black Cat only. It is the most recognized version and is the best figure of Black Cat out there. Absolutely need for a Spider-man Collection as well as Heroes for Hire, Daredevil, Wolverine and Venom collections.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No, but I would like them to releasing it again for those who never got her.
First Solo Series

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Fan Channel exclusive Marvel Legends Spider-man Vintage – Black Cat
- Background:
- Being a popular character, it came to no ones surprise that she would eventually gain her own series. This series takes place after her break up with Flash Thompson and her confusing feeling for Spidey. She would soon make peace with Mary-Jane, becoming one of her closest friends.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- If you are a Black Cat fan, then you will need it. If you missed the Ultimate Goblin wave version and/or didn’t life her modern Crime lord version, then I recommend getting this version. Need for your Spidey collection as well as Maximum Carnage.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No.
Crimelord

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends Spider-man Kingpin wave Black Cat
- Background:
- After Doc Ock (in Spider-man’s body) had Black Cat arrested, she swore revenge against Spider-man. As if using this opportunity to change herself, she changed her costume into this, which she used to manipulate villains like Electro and Scorpion into attacking Spider-man as well as attacking other heroes like Mile Morales and Silk.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- If you are a fan of Dan Slott’s epic run on Amazing Spider-man, then this is a nice figure to have for that. It is also a nice figure if you never got the older figure but the older one is a much better figure. Need for your Spider-man Collection (if you haven’t gotten the older one) but would work on the villains shelf for Mile Morales, Silk and many other New York heroes.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No.
