Hank may have mental problem and Scott was a former criminal, but neither are as bad as this guy. Introduced Civil War: Choosing Sides #1 (2006) by Robert Kirkman and Phil Hester, Eric O’Grady was a former SHIELD agent that stole Hank Pym’s latest Ant-man suit. To say that he used it for heroics would be just plain wrong as he would use it for his own benefit including watching women shower, including Carol Danvers. He would be hunted down by SHIELD agents for stealing the suit. He would eventually meet and befriend Black Fox, an elderly thief, but when the theif was captured by SHIELD he helped him escape. He was caught by Iron Man and Hank Pym, who reluctantly allowed Eric to keep the suit if he joined the Initiative.

When Osborn took over the superhuman activities, he was made to join the Thunderbolts. During this time, he would begin regretting what the team was doing so when they captured Bucky, he secretly helped him escape. After Siege and wanting to turn over a new leaf, he asked Cap to join his Secret Avengers as a form of redemption. He would work hard to earn their trust but was eventually killed by the Descendant while saving a child and was quickly replaced with a LMD who had all of his memories and personalities. He would remain with the Secret Avengers under Hawkeye lead until he betrayed the team to Father. He would escape and eventually joined the Hood’s Illuminati. When Hydra Cap took over the US for Hydra, he would join the evil version of the Avengers but would switch sides alongside Taskmaster. Sticking with Taskmaster, he began capturing animal themed heroes and villains for Kraven, to hunt them down in a grand hunt. He was also captured but help Spider-man and the rest escape.

Despite being a total scumbag, Eric actually has quite a following with many wanting a figure of him over the years. He would receive a figure as part of Walgreen’s exclusives in his LMD Black Ant-man form.

    • This is a character you may want to get for your Ant-man collections either as a hero or a villain. Similar to the Avengers, particularly the Secret Avengers. You may also want it for a Thunderbolts collection but he didn’t wear it during then.

    • No.
