Hey guys! Over on my Facebook, I ran an another poll where I asked people who they want as an Ideal wave. Taking the loser of the last wave, Hulk VS Wolverine, where Hulk narrowly lost I had the Green Behemoth face off against the Golden Knight, Iron Man. However unlike the last poll, Hulk dominated the poll taking up 77% of the vote. Are we really tired of Iron Man? Maybe but some people would like to see a comic book based wave of him. Iron Man moves onto the next poll. But this is about Hulk not Iron Man.
Hulk used to have a strong toy presence even before the MCU. However, in recent years he as not gotten the love he deserves. This could be the fact that the Hulk is co-owned by Paramount or it could be just a problem that is just more simple. The problem that Hulk has is that………………most of his cast are BAF size. With a good chunk of his enemies and even some supporting cast being the same size as Hulk or more then often even bigger then him, many companies would find it hard to release a wave of him due to the size. But people still want a full wave based on him. I would even say some fan would even skip the BAF for him if it means getting some of these character. But this is a fantasy wave, so screw you Hasbro. I’m including a BAF.
Now for this wave, I pick some of the most asked characters as well as some personal wants. I also decided to include a couple of figures that have been shown before in prototype but for some reason or the other. Some of these figures will use BAF build as regular figure and because of that, it will only have 6 figures in this wave. As always the Rules:
- 6-8 figures per wave. No more. No less.
- Some version of the Title hero most be in it (Hulk)
- 1 or 2 Female per wave.
- 1 or 2 Villains per wave, but these could be female as well.
- 1 or 2 brand new character that has never been done before
- 1 or 2 remakes. The Remakes can also be new costumes as Like Classic Spider-man or Iron Spider.
- Each wave most have a Theme ie Spider-man can include Street Level heroes or Iron Man can include Tech Heroes and villains.
The Theme for this wave: Hulk and Monsters
01. Classic Hulk
We start of with the main character and of course I picked his classic version. The last time we actually got a comic book version of Hulk was the 3-pack with White Vision and Ultron but that used the MCU build and was based on Doc Green’s version rather then a classic. Hell the last time we got a classic Hulk was when Marvel Legends was moving to 2-pack with Valkyrie. We really need a classic update. Giving that Hasbro are killing it with their classic updates (look at Spidey, Wolverine and Cap), I would like to see them do Hulk, purple pants on all. For this I had a hard time deciding whether they should go with the Juggernaut build or the Monster Venom build. In the end I had to go with the Juggs build as I find it bulkier then the Venom build. The legs will be new to give him sculpted pants and could be done to make him taller.

2. Lyra, the Savage She-Hulk
Taking one the only Female figure of this wave is Lyra. Now while some would pick Jen or even a redone Betty (Red Shulk), I think we should get this daughter of Hulk. Reason been? It was supposed to be released before but never made it to store. So why not release it in this wave finally get it out to stores. I know that some don’t like that build, but I think they should just release that version with maybe a new head.
3. A-Bomb
Next we have the guy responsible for Bruce Banner becoming the Hulk, Rick Jones. For this I said we should include the highly requested A-bomb version. Granted he has not been A-bomb for years in the comic but many want this version. Why? Because of the Abomination BAF. (That and his role in Agents of SMASH). When Hasbro first announced that BAF one of the first question people asked was “Can we get an A-Bomb version?” Obviously this will use the same build with some re-sculpted parts.
4. General Ross
For the next one I picked General Ross. No. Not Red Hulk. Or Redeemer. Or any other name that Ross has used in his pursuit of the Hulk. I want General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. Ross has been a part of Hulk’s history pretty much since the start, chasing him throughout his history. While a redone Red Hulk figure would be nice (maybe one with a swappable head of the Maverick Version), I thought to save that for a second wave and get Ross in army gear. I think the suited body would work for this with a new jacket with medals on it and new upper arms with even more medals.
5. Leader
Next we have a character who is arguably Hulk greatest enemy, The Leader. This genius as been a torn in Hulk side for as long as many of his foes. Which is surprising considering his only ability is that he is extremely smart and Hulk could snap him like a trig. We did get a Leader way back in the TB days but that is really showing it’s time. For this I think the skinny Spidey buck might work with a new upper torso as a jumpsuit. Also if they make the figure with gloves like it has been seen several times, they could make a swappable head with Red Leader in case people want to have that version.
6. Bi-Beast
For the final of the regular figure we have Bi-Beast. Now I know most people will be saying “Seriously? Bi-Beast?” or ” Who the F* is Bi-Beast? but this is just a silly yet beloved character that I just have to have him. Again why though? It’s simple. Cause Hasbro actually considered releasing him before. He was originally going to be part of the FFF wave but was pulled from that wave and was also part of the Fan Poll that got us the first Valkyrie figure but lost out in that. (See here). For this figure I think the Monster Venom will work perfectly for this figure.
BAF: Zzzax
For the BAF, I choose a character that many people have requested as a BAF. The living energy being of multiple people, Zzzax. This creator has fought Hulk many times over the years, taking many forms depending on the artist. Whatever version Hasbro pick, this would require unique sculpting to demonstrate his powers thus the reason he is the BAF. I would also prefer if Hasbro use translucent plastic but that can go without that if need be.
Well that is my Ideal wave for Hulk would be. As you can see I tried to balance some classic version as well as mixing in some modern version of characters. I also tried to insert some obscure characters especially those that were prototypes. Of course this is only my opinion so let me know what you would want in a Hulk wave.
