This is one white rabbit that Alice won’t follow. Introduced in Marvel Team-Up #131 (1983) by J.M. DeMatteis and Kerry Gammill, Lorina Dodson was once the daughter of overbearing rich parents, who found solace in Lewis Carroll’s Alice In Wonderland. At the age of 25 she was married off to a wealthy older man (82!) but didn’t like being a trophy wife so she killed him and made it look like an accident. Using the money she gained in the inheritance, she purchase and designed various gadgets and become the criminal White Rabbit, pattern after the character in the book. Her first appearance had her battle and nearly killed the shortlived hero, Frogman but he was saved by Spider-man and the 2 defeated her.

Seeking revenge against Frogman, she teamed up with the Walrus but was defeated by Frogman, his father Leapfrog and Spider-man. She would return with 2 henchmen, the Mad Hatter and Dormouse, 2 actors she paid to help her. When Grizzly and Gibbon decided they wanted to be heroes, they happened upon her but she defeated them and held them for ransom against the city. Laughing at this, the city only offered 2.50 for both but they were eventually rescued by Bagman (Spider-man without a costume and a bag on his head because he was wanted by the police.) She was then seen starting a relationship with Arcade when they kidnapped Black Cat and Wolverine but broke up when he abandoned her.

She later became a member of the Hood’s Gang where she was sent to attack Mister Negative and to run drugs for the Hood. During Spider-Island along Chance and Scorcher, she attack Peter Parker and then girlfriend Charlie Cooper, who now had Spider-powers and later gave up straight away when she saw the Superior Spider-man. After Parker return, she would gather together other animal theme villains to form the Menagerie but was defeated by Spidey (who lost most of his costume). She then fought Spider-woman, while Jessica was pregnant and would later become a member of the Hateful Hexad to fight Deadpool and Spidey. She was later killed but was revived soon after. She was then kidnapped and was forced to be hunted by Kraven. She has since joined an all female team of the Sinister Syndicate.

White Rabbit is not a character even some “hardcore comic fans” have heard of. She has mainly being used as a gag villain only to be defeated easily. However, she was included in the Fan Poll that got us the Songbird figure and she was even the finalists, making her the final character from them to be made.
