If you are around this girl, don’t be surprised if you feel dizzy. Introduced in Marvel Fanfare #1 (1981) by Chris Claremont and Michael Golden, the woman who would become Vertigo was a member of the Savage Land’s Swamp men tribe until she was capture and mutated into her human form by Brainchild of the Savage Land Mutates. She would join the Mutates and battle the X-men as well as Ka-Zar and Spider-man. During the battle she was transformed back into her Swamp Man form but somehow returned to human form at some point.

She was later recruited by Gambit into the Marauders, which were sent into New York’s sewers to massacre the Morlock living there. They were later sent to kill Madelyne Pryor by Sinister but were stopped by the X-men. She would later leave the Marauder to join the Femizons and fought Cap. She would eventually return to the Savage Land and helped Sauron escape the Raft. They would battle the New Avengers. She would later rejoin the Marauders during Messiah Complex. She would return to the Savage Land and defeated Sauron becoming the leader of the land. She would later join the mutants on Krakoa.

Vertigo is probably the most famous member of the Mutates outside of Brainchild and is a recurring member of the Marauders. As such she has been requested by fans for years. She would recieve a figure as part of the X-men’s 60th anniversary.
