The second Spymaster was actually retroactively brought into existence when the original returned. Introduced in Iron Man #220 (1997) by David Michelinie and Bob Layton, this Spymaster was sent to team up with Ghost to infiltrate Stark Industries. They would be found by Iron Man and tried to escaped. Ghost offered him his phasing tech to escape. He would move through a wall but Ghost turned off the tech and caused him to turn solid in the wall, killing him instantly. The original Spymaster would use this opportunity to make the world believe he was killed.

The only reason I am even including this on this site is because I know someone would it up. As such he only had one figure in the Black Widow Crimson Dynamo wave.

  • Background:
    • Spymaster was meant to die in this issue. It was only after they have a few other character take up the role before revealing that the original was alive that they created this character. As such, he only wore the original costume of the first Spymaster. It is unknown if this was a ploy by the original or not.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • This is not really some one that many people will known about let alone want. This is only for collector of Iron Man’s rogue gallery. Can be skipped for everybody else.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.
