Peter Parker’s greatest regret was the death of his Uncle Ben as well as Gwen and George Stacy. So when Scarlet Witch remade the universe into the House of M universe, where mutants ruled, she also granted several people their fondest wishes. Introduced in Spider-Man: House of M #1 (2005) by Brian Michael Bendis and Olivier Coipel, this world’s Peter Parker origin was mostly the same except that he stopped the burglar in the wrestling joint. After this, he returned home and told his Uncle Ben and Aunt May about his powers. Because the mutant/human war was happening, his Uncle Ben told him to pretend to be a mutant in order to be an inspiration to young mutants. Peter became a celebrity and used his wealth to help the needy. He also married the Gwen Stacy of this world and had a son named Richard.

However, he started having visions of the real world and how Uncle Ben and Gwen were supposed to be dead. He later came under attack from a Green Goblin, who worked with J. Jonah Jameson to expose him as not being a mutant. This cause him to be hated by the public. The Goblin eventually attack Peter’s family but was captured by his bodyguard, Rhino, who unmasked the Goblin only to find out it was Peter underneath. He had been driven crazy by the visions and the guilt of lying about being a mutant. In order to make things right, he fact this death and went on the run with his family. He would join the heroes in turning the world back to normal but that world still existed as during the Spider-verse, he was attacked and killed by Karn of the Inheritors.

House of M Spider-man seems to be a favorite of someone from the Marvel Legends team. Toybiz was released one in their Spider-man Classic line but that was a cheap kid friendly version with a web launching feature in the arm. Hasbro has done 2 versions of it, one in the MU line and another in the SP//DR wave.

Background:
- Just like his 616 universe, Spider-man began his career as a wrestler. However, unlike that, he remained as a wrestler before setting up his own business.
Why you need it for your collection?:
- This is not something that most people will want. It’s a nice design but not something people would put on their Spider-man want list. If you got the House of M box set from Toybiz and the Wolverine from the X-men Classics line, then you may want to add this to that collection. It would be also be nice for your Spider-verse display, especially if we ever get any of the Inheritors.
