One of the few women I hope never becomes a mother. Introduced in Spider-Man Unlimited #1 (1993) by Tom DeFalco and Ron Lim, the former drug dealer seemed to have lost her mind after being shot in the head and exposed to the Darkforce by Cloak. She was sent to Ravencroft, where during an escape she met Carnage who helped her escape. The pair would go on a killing spree and were joined by Carrion, Demogoblin and Doppelganger, the last of set became attach to her like a pet. They would become like a family with Carnage and Shriek being the parent. This led to the Maximum Carnage event, which the Carnage Family would be defeated by a number of different heroes, led by Spider-man. She would be sent back to Ravencroft but tried to escape twice.

After being seen in the Bar With No Name, she was later sent back to Ravencroft, which had been taken over by Hall Industries. She was helped by Dr. Tanis Nieves but Hall Industries tried to use her to control the Carnage Symbiote. She snapped and rescue Doppelganger. She reunited the Carnage symbiote with Kassady and she gained a new symbiote that the Carnage symbiote spawned. However, the symbiote would leave her for Dr. Nieves, who would become Scorn. Scorn forced Shriek to use her powers against Carnage, allowing Spider-man and Iron man to defeat him. She would later be reunited with Carnage but they came under the attack of Deadpool, who hope to gain more popularity by defeating Carnage. After battling the likes of Spider-woman and Venom as well as joining the Sinister Sixteen, she would be recruied by the Cult of Knull and would aid Carnage in Absolute Carnage. She allowed Carnage to kill her to gain the Scorn codex and allow Demogoblin (now Demagoblin) to possess her body.

Shriek has been one of those character that people want because of her role in an event, that being the popular Maximum Carnage event, a comic and video game crossover. She would eventually receive a figure in the No Way Home wave.
