He used to have a British accent. Introduced in Incredible Hulk #271 (271) by Bill Mantlo and Sal Buscema, Rocket was a genetically and cybernetically enhanced animal that was put in charge of security on Halfworld, a planet for the mentally insane. He first encountered the inhabitants of Earth when Hulk some how wound up on the planet. Rocket was eventually taken by the Stranger, until he escaped and began travelling the universe along side Groot. He would fall into obscurity for decades until the Phalanx invasion.

Rocket eventually returned when he was imprisoned by the Kree and forced to join a new team lead by Starlord. This team was assembled to help stop the Phalanx invasion led by Ultron. After that Starlord recruited Rocket and Groot into a new team, who took the name Guardians of the Galaxy after encountering Major Victory. He would return to Halfworld where he officially quit his job and went to look for his friend Groot. After an encounter with Mojo, They would keep the Guardians going and traveled to Earth to stop Thanos from getting the Cosmic Cube. He would remain on Earth for a while but would eventually travel back into space, where he found out he was dying. After a battle with the Church of the Universal Church, he was given a surgery which healed him.

Not many people knew about Rocket until really his return in the Annihilation. Even then he wasn’t a well known character until his appearance in the MCU (which cause Marvel to change his accent to match the movies.) Since then he has gotten a few figure since. He started with a Baf in Hasbro attempt of making mini-bafs. This would be repainted as a Marvel Unlimited Subscription service incentive. This figure would again be re-release with a new head as part of an Entertainment Earth exclusive box set. While it was released as a MCU version, the MCU Groot wave has a figure that was eventually adapted into the comic.

Phalanx Invasion

Recommend Figure:  Hasbro Marvel Unlimited Subscription Service exclusive Marvel Legends – Rocket Racoon

  • Background:
    • Before Annihilation Conquest, Rocket and Groot had been captured and imprisoned by the Kree. They were taken to Star-Lord as part of a Strike Force to stop Ultron and his Phalanx. The team would wear the same type of uniform.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • This one was a Subscription exclusive so it might be harder to find then others. Only get if you have to have every Rocket Racoon. Plus the likelihood of us getting the remaining member of this team.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • Yes, with better articulation.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Recommend Figure:  Hasbro Entertainment Earth Exclusive Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy box set – Rocket Racoon with Starlord, Drax, Gamora and Groot

  • Background:
    • Soon after Conquest, Starlord began recruiting the surviving member of the Kree Strike team into a new team by having Mantis use her power to push them into joining. They would wear a recolored version of their previous uniform and were based in Knowhere. It should be noted that they weren’t called the Guardians until they encountered a time displaced Major Victory who mention his old team in the 31st Century. Rocket suggested they used the name.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • You will need this to to have a proper comic book version of the GOTG. While the figure is not perfect, it will look nice next to the others. DON’T get the BAF, get the Box set version as it comes with the 5 core members of the team.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • Yes with better articulation.

Avengers: No Road Home

Recommend Figure:  Hasbro Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy Groot wave – Rocket Racoon

  • Background:
    • When Rocket was stranded on Earth, he encountered Hercules and the 2 were recruited by Voyager to help stop the goddess of the night, Nyx. Since this was slightly after the success of the GOTG movie, his costume in that was adapted into the comics.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • Unless you have to have every member of this team, them it can be skip. Really only should be gotten for a MCU collection.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • Maybe comic version with in a box set maybe but otherwise no.

Needs

Below you will find a gallery of suits that still need to be made. I have included what I think are the possibilities of them being made. Note that these are my personal opinions and not fact. Please let me know if I have missed anything.
