He really likes to shake things up, doesn’t he? Introduced in X-Factor #17 (1987) by Louise Simonson and Walter Simonson, the son of a gun smuggler who witness his father being murdered by Stryfe. This caused his powers to activate, leading to the anti-Mutant group trying to use his powers to destroy San Francisco. He was rescued by the first X-Factor team and taken in as one of their trainees. He would remain with the group until they broke up. He would leave to go to school but would later join the other former trainees to become one of the X-Terminators. After a few adventures and the team breaking up, Rictor would join the New Mutants. While a member, he would begin a relationship with Wolfsbane.

When Wolfsbane decided to stay in Genosha, he would leave the team to try and find her. Believing Cable was the person who killed his father, he joined Weapon PRIME team to hunt down Cable. Learning the truth he would join X-Force with is fellow New Mutants. While on the team he would befriend Shatterstar. They would leave to try and stop his father’s gun smuggling business. After losing his powers after M-Day and suffering from depression, he would join Madrox’s X-factors Investigation. He was later sent to infiltrate the Purifiers to prevent from getting Baby Hope. He would later rescue Shatterstar and the two would begin a romantic relationship. Rictor found this relationship difficult, even more so when Wolfsbane claimed her baby was his. He would later learn the truth but help Wolfsbane as best he could while restarting his relationship with Shatterstar.

He would later be repowered by Scarlet Witch. After Wolfsbane had to give up her baby, she fell into depression. Rictor, along with Shatterstar, helped her through this and helped her reunited with her baby. She would leave X-Factor to raise her child under the protection of Werewolf by Night and Rictor would remain with X-Factor. The couple was believed killed by Mephisto but were instead sent back in time in the Mojoverse. He would aid the rebels and witness his birth of Shatterstar. He somehow wound up back in his own time and was living in New Tien. He was afraid to go to Krakoa with the rest of the mutants as his powers could destroy the island. Instead he joined Excalibur.

Rictor is not a character many people have heard of. However, he would gain a boast in people asking for a figure of him after Shatterstar was made and Hasbro showed interest in completing the original X-Force team. He would receive a figure as part of a 3-pack with Domino and Cannonball as a Pulse/Disney shop exclusive.
