He is alot younger then he appears. Introduced in Avengers #326 by Larry Hama and Paul Ryan, the then 13 year old Elvin Haliday was hiding from some bullies when he was dosed in toxic waste. This cause his body to grew and take the appearance to a grown man in his 30’s, given him enhanced strength invulnerability. Encouraged by his grandmother, he began using his powers as Rage. He would approach the Avengers and try and force himself into the team by accusing the team of being racist, being that their was no black member at the time. Initially refusing to allow him to join, they changed their minds when he help them later on when the team was reorganized by the UN carter. However, during a battle with the Hate Monger and a team up with the New Warrior, they found out Rage’s true age and had no choice but to remove him from full membership and have him be a probationary member.

Not happy with his demotion, he soon helped the New Warrior steal one of the Quinjets and was fired from the Avengers. However, this allowed him to join the New Warriors as a full member. During this time, he saw his grandmother killed by a street gang and was foster by Andrew Chord and later Night Thrasher would adopt him. Even though he was eventually voted off the team at one point, he would remain with the New Warriors for years until the team broke up. He then went to a boarding school and even turned down Speedball’s offer to rejoin the team to concentrate on his study. He would return a few time as a reserved Avenger, like during a battle with Morgan LeFay or against a deranged Scarlet Witch.

The next time he was seen was during the Civil War, where himself and Justice learnt that someone was leaking the New Warrior identities and allowing people to hunt them down in retaliation for Standford bombing by Nitro that started the war. They sought She-Hulk help in protecting them and found out that it was a former member that was doing the leaking. It might have been because of this incident that he sided with Cap during the war but after Cap’s death signed act and became a trainee at Camp Hammond. He became involved in the fight against the Americops but was arrested and sent to prison. While in prison he was attacked by criminals and left in a coma. He was next seen, recovered, was when he teamed up with D-man when he was bonded with a symbiote but was believed killed when they were consumed by a poison. He was eventually seen alive when he was called by Mr. Fantastic to fight against the Cancerverse.

Rage is not a character many people have heard of but he has gotten a few figures over the years but only one in ML that being the Avengers Gamerverse Abomination wave.

Classic

Recommend Figure:  Hasbro Marvel Legends Avenger Gamerverse Abomination wave – Marvel’s Rage

  • Background:
    • Rage as he originally appeared when he tried to force his way on the Avengers by accusing Captain America of being racist for not having any black members on the team. Like many classic costumes, it would go onto influence most of his costumes then on. It should be noted that the Rage symbol on the back has not been on the back in some art work.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • This one will help to add more members to 2 team, the first being of course the Avengers who we have all but Sersei. The next and probably most important one is the New Warriors who Hasbro are slowly building. If not he can be used as a Street Level hero.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No, maybe later re-released with the Rage logo on the back. Maybe a New Warrior box set.

Needs

Below you will find a gallery of suits that still need to be made. I have included what I think are the possibilities of them being made. Note that these are my personal opinions and not facts. Please let me know if I have missed anything.
