I know he can’t stay still for a minute, but dear God man, pick a team. Introduced in X-men #4 (1964) by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Pietro and his sister were kidnapped by the High Evolutionary to experiment on but given to a gypsy family when his experiments proved unfruitful. The twin grew up believing they were mutants until, after their father stole food to feed them, they were attacked by the local villagers. They were rescued by Magneto who invited them to join his Brotherhood. He only really joined Magneto’s team to protect his sister, so when Magneto was taken by the Stranger, they left the Brotherhood. They were invited to join the Avengers after the founding member choose to leave as part of a team led by Captain America. The team was dubbed “Captain America’s Quirky Quartet” by the media but Quicksilver would the first to leave the team to join with Magneto’s team.

While he would eventually rejoin the Avengers, he was injured and went missing during a battle with the Sentinels. He was found and brought by to health by Crystal of the Inhumans. The two would soon fall in love and were eventually married, resulting in the birth of his daughter Luna. He would eventually come to believe that Magneto was his father (retconned to be false). He would lead the Inhuman military but his neglect of Crystal lead her to have an affair. This turned out to be a ploy by Maximus to control Quicksilver, who he used to battle the Avengers and other teams. Maximus’ control eventually wavered and Quicksilver would reconcile with Crystal. After a brief tenure with the Government’s sponsored X-factor, the couple would join the Avengers. Crystal would eventually believed to have been killed by Onslaught and Quicksilver joined the Knights of Wundagore.

They would be reunited but split soon after. He would later become the person responsible for the House of M universe after he tried to save his sister from the Avengers and X-men. This would lead to him losing his powers after M-Day. He stole a piece of the Terrigen Mist to restore his powers, as well as forcing his daughter to undergo the process. After trying to use the mist for other mutants he was eventually arrested. His powers were restored and he escaped jail. He joined Hank Pym’s Mighty Avengers and using the Skrull Invasion as a excused, he made the Inhumans believe that it was a Skrull who committed the crimes against them. However, Luna knew the truth because of her powers and this cause her to never forgive her father.

He would try and make amends for his crime and joined the Avengers Academy as a teacher. He would develop a close teacher-student relationship with Finesse. He would joined the Serval X-Factor team. During World War Hate, he learnt that he wasn’t the son of Magneto and would join his sister as a member of the Unity Squad, where he developed a relationship with Synapse. But would leave the team when she was hurt by Juggernaut as a result of his showboating. He would help Hawkeye as a member of the Underground during Secret Empire before sarcificing himself to stop the Challenger from destroying the Earth. He would eventually return.

Quicksilver has a bit of a problematic nature when it comes to his figure, not getting nearly as many as his sister. His first figure was part of the Hasbro second ever wave, the Blob wave, with a green variant. He wouldn’t see another figure for many years until the 80th anniversary line, where he saw a figure as part of an Amazon Exclusive box set with Magneto and Scarlet Witch.

Captain America’s Quirky Quartet

Recommend Figure:  Hasbro Marvel Legends Blob Wave – Quicksilver (Variant)

  • Background:
    • Soon after joined the Avengers, Quicksilver redesigned his earlier costume to something more streamline, removing some parts to make it easier to run. This costume would have white or green gloves or boots depending on the art.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • While you could get this figure to complete the Quirky Quartet or as a stand-in for his first appearance costume, trying to find him now would seem hard as the wave was under order and the variants at the time were extremely hard to find. I would wait for Hasbro to re-release this as a Fan Channel exclusive.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • Not really but I wouldn’t say no to a repaint of the one below.

Classic

Recommend Figure:  Hasbro Amazon Exclusive Marvel Legends 80th Anniversary Family Matters Box set – Quicksilver with Magneto and Scarlet Witch

  • Background:
    • It wasn’t long after designing the Quirky Quartet version, Quicksilver was given a new costume. This costume would become his classic look and would go onto inspire the future costumes. He would also wear it for many teams including the X-factor as well as what he wore in many animated shows.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • This version of Quicksilver is the one I recommend getting for many teams, including the Avengers (many versions), the X-men, (sometimes) the Brotherhood as well as X-Factor.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.

Needs

Below you will find a gallery of suits that still need to be made. I have included what I think are the possibilities of them being made. Note that these are my personal opinions and not facts. Please let me know if I have missed anything.
