She is the green haired daughter of Magneto. Introduced in X-Men #49 (1968) by Arnold Drake and Don Heck, Lorna Dane is the result of an affair with her mother and Magneto. She first met the X-men when she came under the control of Mesmero, who made her believe that she was Magneto’s daughter, years before she found out the truth (making me question how much he knew about Magneto). The X-men rescued her and she soon joined the team. While on the team she met and fell in love with Havok. She would eventually leave with Havok to study in college. She soon came under the control of the Shi’Ar and would later be corrupted by Malice.

After spending some time on Muir Island, Polaris joined her boyfriend in helping set up the government sponsored X-Factor team as a co-leader. She would remain on the team until Havok was killed by Greystone. She would later be kidnapped by Apocalypse’s Minions as one of the Twelve. Magneto, also on of the Twelve, invited her to Genosha to train her in her powers. After he was believed killed, she revealed that she found out that Magneto was her real father. She ruled over Genosha until it was destroyed by Cassandra Nova’s Sentinels. She would be reunited with Havok later and were to be married until Havok left her at the alter. This drove her insane leading to her taking on Magneto’s view of humanity. She would rejoin the X-men before losing her powers after M-Day. She was eventually repowered by Apocalypse and became his horseman of Pestilence in his attack on the X-mansion.

She would be free of Apocalypse’s control and would later join Havok as a member of the Starjammers. She would join the X-Factor Investigation which she remained with and even lead until they broke up. She would begin working with the time-displaced X-men as a mentor and would later set up her own X-men Blue team. After House of X, she joined Kitty Pryde’s Marauders.

It took years of practically begging both Toybiz and Hasbro to make Polaris some form. Her first figure was part of the X-men Warlock wave. However, some people didn’t like this and asked Hasbro for another particular version and Hasbro answered with an Fan Channel exclusive box set with Havok.

Government Sponsored X-Factor

Recommend Figure:  Hasbro Fan Channel Exclusive Marvel Legends 80th Anniversary X-factor 2-pack – Polaris with Havok

  • Background:
    • When Havok was invited to join a government created X-factor team, Polaris joined him as a co-leader. The team wore similar costume, each which their own flair. This is Polaris’, which she wore in the 90’s animated show.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • If you are planning to complete the 90’s X-factor team you will need this version. It’s not the most classic version of the character so it’s up to you if you want to get it.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.

Starjammers

Recommend Figure:  Hasbro Marvel Legends X-men Warlock wave – Polaris

  • Background:
    • When Prof X went into space to stop Vulcan, he invited a number of X-men to join him, including Havok and Polaris. This costume is basically an update to her classic green costume which she would return to a few times including when she mentored the young X-men.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • Hasbro hasn’t really done anymore of this version of the Starjammers so it probably wouldn’t be a great idea to get this for that. However, it is the closest we have to a Classic version out this so if you want her for an X-men collection then this is the one you need.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • no.

Needs

Below you will find a gallery of suits that still need to be made. I have included what I think are the possibilities of them being made. Note that these are my personal opinions and not facts. Please let me know if I have missed anything.
