And you thought the Prime Reed could be a jerk. Introduced in Ultimate Fantastic Four #1 (2004) by Mark Millar, Brian Michael Bendis and Adam Kubert, in this universe Reed was a child genius who was abused by his father and bullied for his intelligence in school. His one friend, Ben, would protect Reed from the bullies. Having created a dimension crossing device for a school science fair, he gained the notice of Lieutenant Lumpkin who recommended him to a think tank that was being run by Dr. Franklin Storm. There he would meet Susan and Johnny Storm as well as fellow genius Victor Van Damme, who he would work with to create a device to enter into the N-Zone. Years, later, the finished the device and was going to test it in Nevada’s desert. However, unknown to Reed, Victor had altered the device. Upon activating the device, Reed, Sue, Johnny, Victor and a visiting Ben were sucked into the portal. They would return to their Earth, but all had gain new powers.

They would return to the Baxter Building and after foiling a plot by Mole Man, would work together to stop Damme (now Doom) from taking over a country. They would help the Ultimate universe against other threats as the Fantastic Four. However, they would break up after Franklin’s death and Sue’s refusal of Reed marriage proposal. After all this, Reed’s mind snapped, and he fake his own death and began working behind the scenes to attack his friends and others. He was stopped by the Avengers and F4 but would escape and take on the mantle of the Maker. When the Incursions happened, he teamed up with the Prime Universe Thanos and his Cabal to try and stop them. After Secret Wars, he would find himself in the Prime Universe, where he would become a treat to the Prime Universe and developed an obsession with Symbiotes. He would continue to jump dimensions and eventually returned to his own universe where he continued to be a threat.

This version of Reed would receive a figure as part of Toybiz’s Fantastic Four Classics line, but the figure depicted as a much older version of Reed compared to his younger Ultimate counterpart.
