When Marvel launched the Age of Apocalypses, they resurrected many long dead characters. One of them was Changeling, who they had to change names because of a certain DC character using the name. (That plus the 90’s cartoon character was extremely popular). Introduced by X-Men: Alpha #1 (1995) by Scott Lobdell, Mark Waid, Roger Cruz and Steve Epting, Kevin Sydney was an early recruit for Magneto’s X-men team. He become the team’s source of humor, using his powers to make people laugh. He was one of the team member who helped rescue Blink and convinced her to help them in their battle against Apocalypse. He would remain with the team, even helping prevent Holocaust culling people in Boston. He was with the team on the final assault against Apocalypse while Bishop tried to restore the world. While the AOA world was revealed to have survived, he was one of many X-men missing in action.

Despite only appearing in this story arc, Morph has become a fan favorite character. This is mostly because of his comedic role in an otherwise harsh reality. Plus people often mistake him for the Exile version. Morph was an obvious inclusion in the Age of Apocalypse wave, despite the teasing way Hasbro announced him.

  • Background:
    • Morph like he appeared in the Age of Apocalypse universe. Like many mutant he has the same stubbed collar.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • If you are making an AOA shelf for your display then this is a most. Otherwise it can be skipped as he is Prime counterpart is very different to him. It can be used for the Exiles though but that is a different character and is more famous for his later costume.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.
