She is a manipulative person with super-powered space rocks. Introduced in Captain America #192 (1975) by Marv Wolfman and Frank Robbins, Dr. Karla Sofen grew up learning to manipulate people for her own benefit. She would later work under Dr. Faustus, where she would encounter Captain America for the first time. She would eventually take the original Moonstone (Lloyd Bloch) as one of her patients and manipulated him into giving her his moonstones. She would then become Moonstone and battle many heroes and villains.

Egghead would eventually recruit her to join his Masters of Evil but they were defeated with Moonstone being sent to Project Pegasus to be studied. There, she met a fellow inmate, Blackout, who she made trust her. The pair would be recruited by Baron Helmut Zemo for his Masters and they were involved in the raid on the Avengers mansion. After most of the world heroes were believed killed in the Onslaught Saga, Zemo would turn a few of the Masters into the Thunderbolts, with Moonstone taking up the mantle of Meteorite. She would remain with the team when they turned against Zemo and came under the leadership of Hawkeye, who she had a brief relationship with.

She would remain with the team until Norman Osborn was given control of super-human activities. She would be chosen as one of his Dark Avengers team taking up the mantle of Ms. Marvel. When he was defeated, she would be sent to the Vault and under Luke Cage’s Thunderbolts. She would later take on the mantle of Captain Marvel when the Thunderbolts were sent back in time. At some point she was sent to Pleasant Hill and would help in the massive breakout of the prison. She would be forced to join Winter Soldier’s Thunderbolts to protect Kobik, the living Cosmic Cube. After War of the Realms, the Thunderbolts were sent to kill the Punisher. She later blackmailed Ghost into doing what she wanted but he would turn against her and aid Strikeforce. She was sent to Ravencroft as a patient but was later made one of the staff by Norman Osborn.

Moonstone is probably the most consistent member of the T-Bolts. As such she has been requested by fans for a while. She would receive a figure as part of the 2013 SDCC Thunderbolts set. She would later receive an updated figure as part of Walgreen year of the Villains exclusives
