She is Wolverine’s one and only unofficial sidekick. Introduced in Uncanny X-Men #244 (1989) by Chris Claremont and Marc Silvestri, Jubilee is the daughter of rich Chinese immigrants, who lost their money and were killed. Jubes was then sent to an orphanage but ran away to a local mall. She began stealing food to survive when she happened upon some female members of the X-Men, who entered a portal to Australia. She followed them to the X-men outback base but stay hidden from them. She then emerged to rescue Wolverine from the Reavers. She then joined the team forming a close relationship with Wolverine.
After been with the team for a while, she later helped rescue young mutants who were being gathered by the Phalanx. She then asked to join these join mutants in the new Massachusetts Academy, where they became Generation X. She remained with team until they disbanded where she moved to LA to be an actress. She was later seen as part of the X-Corps under Banshee. Jubes was one of many mutants to lose her powers after M-Day but that didn’t stop her from being a hero. She was recruited by Night Thrasher’s younger brother (using his brothers name) as part of a new team of New Warriors with some other former mutants like Beak and Angel Salvadore.
Jubes eventually moved to San Francisco. There she was attacked and turned into a Vampire by Vargas, Dracula’s son, to be used to attack the X-men. After his defeat, Jubes struggled with her new Vampire powers but was helped by Wolverine over come her hunger. She eventually learnt to walk in the sunlight and then adopted a young baby named Shogo. She eventually returned to the X-men and even led her own team. After Monet attacked the mansion and tried to kill Jubes by pushing her into direct sunlight, she was saved by Quentin Quire, who used part of the Phoenix Force to, not only cure her of her being a vampire, but also returned her into being a mutants and regained her powers.
I don’t think anyone will argue with me if I say that the reason Jubilee is such popular and fan favorite character is because of the 90’s cartoon, where she essentially was one of the main characters. The reason many people were asking for her is to complete that team from the cartoon. She has gotten a few figures though. The first, a vampire costume, was a hard to find BAF, that was a TRU exclusive and the second is the Jim Lee style costume as part of the Caliban wave. She would receive a figure in her training suit costume as part of the X-men 60th line.
Have
Jim Lee Blue Strike team

Recommend Figure:Hasbro Marvel Legends X-men Caliban Wave Jubilee
- Background:
- This the costume that would become her classic costume, to which she would return to a number of time and to which many are based on, particularly the yellow trench-coat. It was also the costume she wore throughout the X-men cartoon.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- If you are a fan of the cartoon or want to complete the Jim Lee team, then this is needed. This is also the one I recommend getting if you have to have the one version of her on your shelf. Needed for X-men, Wolverine and Generation X collections.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No.

Post “Curse of The Mutants” Vampire

Recommend Figure:Hasbro Shared / TRU Exclusive Marvel Legends X-men Jubilee Wave Jubilee (Build-A-Figure)
- Background:
- Right after she was turned into a vampire and Vargas was defeated, Jubes was placed in a cell until they could cure her. However, Wolverine took her from the cell and worked with her to over come her urges.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- Unless you were one of the fortunate ones who managed to get the wave when it was released or really need a more modern version of the character, then I would recommend skipping this as it is extremely expensive. Only get it if you want to complete the Utopia team.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No.
