Sometimes being a hero is not everything it’s cracked up to be. Introduced in Alias #1 (2001) by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos, Jessica Jones is one of Marvel’s best private investigator. However, she was retconned into the Marvel Universe as having been one of Peter Parker’s (Spider-man’s) classmate, Jessica Cambell, in Amazing Spider-Man #4 (1963) by Stan Lee and Steve Dikto. She obtained her powers when her family car crash into a military truck. She was the only one who survived and was adopted by the Jones family. Learning she had powers, she took to being a hero under the name Jewel, having a promising career and was even invited to the Avengers, which she denied as she felt she wasn’t worthy.
However, that soon came crashing down when she met the Purple Man. He used his mind control powers to control and used her to achieve crimes and attack the Avengers. She eventually broke free. She then became the vigilante Knightress but a encounter with Luke Cage and the crimelord the Owl, made her give up her hero way and became a private investigator. Having worked a few case with Cage, the two fell in love, had a daughter and eventually married. She still is a private investigator but is also a member of the Avengers, usually on the same team as her husband.
Once an obscure character, Jessica Jones popularity skyrocketed after the Netflix series. Since this series launched, she has had 2 figure of her, one being the Netflix version (which can be used as a comic figure) and a Jewel version.

- Background:
- When Jessica first found out she had powers she decided to live her dream of being a super-hero. She took to the skies as Jewel. It seems she did quite a job as she was even invited to join the Avengers. However, after Purple Man used and abused her, she hung up the tights, only wearing them on special events like in the Young Avengers series and when rescuing Clint Barton.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- If you want a comic book version, rather then using the MCU one, then this is the one you need. If you want her to be a Superhero rather then a superpowered PI then this is the one you need.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No.
Alias Investigation

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends Marvel Knights Man-Thing Wave Jessica Jones
- Background:
- After everything that happened to Jessica during her tenure as a superhero, Jessica now usually refuses to wear a costume, even when she was a member of the Avengers. There is only a few time when she wore it like during the Young Avengers series and when she went to rescue Hawkeye with other female members. Thus she usually wear street clothes.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- While this is not a comic book version, it is extremely close to the modern version in the books. It is need for the Defenders, Avengers, Daredevil and Spider-man fans, and will work in your street level heroes
- Does it need a remake?:
- No. Just being released.
