He was basically retroactively introduced to explain why Iron Fist was acting so violent and how he came back to life. Introduced in Power Man and Iron Fist #119 (1985) by
Jim Owsley and Mark Bright, Danny Rand was kidnapped by a plant like race and replaced with a being that looked and acting just like him. He would return to New York with Luke Cage and Colleen Wing and began sporting a red version of his Iron Fist’s classic costume. No believed that it wasn’t Rand as they believed he was only acting out because of his near death experience with cancer. However, he would break things off with Misty Knight and begin a relationship with Maxine Walter. However, he would soon be killed fighting Captain Hero (Super-Skrull in disguise). While Luke was blamed for his death, he eventually found out the truth when the body began decomposing like a plant and not a human. They would eventually go to rescue the real Rand from the H’ylthri.

He would receive a figure as part of the Apocalypse series of Toybiz’s Marvel Legends.

Iron Fist Imposter

Recommend Figure: Toybiz Marvel Legends Apocalypse Series Iron Fist (Variant)

  • Background:
    • When Iron Fist returned from a mission un Kun’Lun, he began sporting a red version of his classic green version. As such, he became more violent. It wasn’t discovered that it wasn’t the real Iron Fist until after it’s death. Rand would wear it for a bit but returned to his classic suit soon after.
  •  Why you need it for your collection?:
    • Unless you want to have every version of Iron Fist, I would recommend skipping it. It was shortlived and not worth the effort to get it.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • Not really but if Hasbro did the classic version, they could do this version as a Fan Channel exclusive.

Needs

Below you will find a gallery of suits that still need to be made. I have included what I think are the possibilities of them being made. Note that these are my personal opinions and not fact. Please let me know if I have missed anything.
