She was the first mutant born after M-Day. Introduced in X-Men (Vol. 2) #205 (2008) by Mike Carey, Ed Brubaker, Peter David, Chris Yost and Craig Kyle, when this baby was born is activated her X-gene, causing the Purifiers to find and hunt her down. They destroyed the town, killing most of the civilians including this baby’s mother. She was saved by Cable, which led to a cross country hunt by the X-men, Purifiers and Bishop who believed the baby was responsible for his future. After a huge battle involving the X-men, Marauders, Purifiers and more, Cyclops agreed to allowed Cable to the future. He would marry a woman named Hope but she would die soon after. Cable named the baby Hope Summers after her adopted mother.
After growing up in the future, while being hunted by Bishop and an adventure in space, Cable and Hope decided to return to the present day. This brought the attention of Bastion who attacked pair. They were rescued by the X-men but Cable lost his life in the battle. After Hope arrived on Utopia, Cerebro started detecting more mutants which Cyclops believed was because of Hope. Hope began searching for these new mutants, which would become known as the Lights before helping the X-men to defeat Kuurth, a Juggernaut given new powers by the Serpent. She would remain with Cyclops after the Schism.
When the Avengers detected the Phoenix approaching Earth, they demanded that Hope be put into their custody for her safety. Cyclops disagreed with Cap leading to a war between the X-men and Avengers. This led to a battle on the moon where the phoenix tried to take over Hope but Iron Man blasted it causing it to be taken in by Cyclops and 4 others. At first these four worked to improve the Earth, but Hope began to see what was really happening to them. She escaped the X-men and went to the Avengers for help, where she would receive training from both Iron Fist and Spider-man. She would later help defeat Cyclops, who was corrupted by the Phoenix and then decided to try a live a normal life. She would learn that Cable was alive and joined with Domino to find him. She would find him and join her father’s X-force team. During House of X, she would become one of the Five who went about reviving many mutants.
Shockingly, Hope became a surprising addition to the Marvel Legends line when she was added to the first wave of the Return of Marvel Legends line, the Terrax wave.
Second Coming

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends Terrax wave – Hope Summers
- Background:
- After spending most of her life in the future, Hope and Cable arrived in the present. She was seen wearing this, which she continued to wearing up until she became a member of the five.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- If you want, you can get this for your X-men, X-force and the Five members. It can also be gotten for your Summers family members, being Cable’s adopted daughter.
- Does it need a remake?:
- Yes. This is on an outdated body mold (even when it was released) so needs to put on a modern mold. My choice is the Kate Bishop mold.
