Ever wondered by Roderick and Hobgoblin appeared in the same place? Introduced in Spider-Man: Hobgoblin Lives #1 (1997) (though retconned to have appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #249 (1983)) by Roger Stern and Ron Frenz, Daniel Kingsley is the identical twin brother to Roderick Kingsley, the mind behind the Hobgoblin. Daniel would impersonate his brother as Hobgoblin many times in order to think that Roderick and Hobgoblin were two separate beings. He would remain hidden otherwise with many people not knowing that they were brothers. When Roderick began a super-villain franchise business in Isla Suerto, where he would give people superhero identities and gear for a price, Daniel would take up the mantle of Hobgoblin in New York and was hired by Kingpin for a job. However, when he arrived in one the Hobgoblin hideouts, he was attacked and killed by Phil Urich, who became the next Hobgoblin.

Given that Daniel would fill in for his brother, he wore the same costume as Roderick. As such, any classic Hobgoblin figure can be used as Daniel as well.
