Robbie’s uncle takes the saying “there is always one in a family” to a whole new level. Introduced in All-New Ghost Rider #1 (2014) by Felipe Smith and Tradd Moore, Robbie, and his brother Gabe, grew up in a rough neighborhood, where gangs and corruption ruled the streets. A mechanic, Robbie wanted to move them to a safer neighborhood so he started street racing. He took one of the cars he was working on and raced. When he took he won, he was chased by someone and eventually crashed the car. Trying to pacify his pursuer, he got out of the car only to be shot and set ablaze. However, the car he had taken was processed by a ghost of his uncle, who enter his body and transformed Robbie into the Ghost Rider. He gave to his pursuers and took many of them out.
He woke up the next morning, believing it was a dream, and went to work. While he was out testing the car, he was set upon by two thugs. He turned into the Ghost Rider and attacked them. He drove a car to a junkyard and transformed back. Looking at his reflection in the hood of the car, he saw the Ghost Rider’s face looking back at him. He asked him what was going on, it told him he was a ghost named Eli (his serial killer uncle) and offered him a chance to get back at everyone who wronged him. Robbie agreed. He returned to the garage to find his boss murder and the car gone. He transformed into Ghost Rider and was teleported to the car. He attacked the drug cartel until their boss took some pill that transformed him into a hulking monster. He defeated him only to find the operation was being run by Mr. Hyde, who he soundly defeated. He became the protector of the neighborhood, though was reluctant to become a vigilante.
He would later encounter Johnny Blaze, who would fight him. During the fight, Eli completely took over Robbie’s and went on a murderous rampage. Johnny used the Penance stare on Eli, free Robbie. Johnny advised Robbie not to let Eli take control and Robbie merged his spirit with Eli, purging Eli’s consciousness from his body. Robbie would later become involved and helped form a team of Avengers when the Dark Celestials arrived on Earth. This saw him battle the corrupted Celestials by taking over the god and riding him like a mech. This body would later become the base of the Avengers. He was later attacked by the Legion of the Unliving, a vampire team, and was nearly corrupted until he was saved by Blade.
Tired of the charger acting strange, he asked his fellow Avengers to help him exorcise it. When that went wrong, he arrived in hell, where he was challenged to a race by the new King of Hell, Johnny Blaze. With the help of the Avengers and the past Ghost Rider, he won the race and became king but gave the role back to Johnny. As a reward, Johnny got rid of Eli’s spirit completely. Thanks to this, Robbie embraced his role of Ghost Rider and a member of the Avengers. Learning of the threat of the Multiverse Masters of Evil and the Council of Red, he went in search for allies from across of the multiverse, learning that he was the All-Rider, a unique being that could “ride” anything. He saved the multiverse but was locked in the god Quarry. He of course would return and continue to protect the people he loved and cared about.
Possible Figures
- Which has the best chance of being made? – As you can see above Hasbro was planning to make this as part of the first and so far only failed Haslab project. They were going to use so-far only design from the comics.
- How can it be made? – A prototype of this has already been made. All Hasbro has to do is release it in some way. One way to do this is to get rid of all the lights electronics, SOME of the swappable parts (like the unmasked head and regular wheels and engine) and release it as a MTO set. IF they just wanted to release the figure without the car, then they could just release it as part of a wave, like they did with the Hellstrom figure, or as part of a 2-pack.
