Not all of Forge’s inventions are a benefit to the X-men. Introduced in Uncanny X-Men #184 (1984) by Chris Claremont and John Romita Jr, Forge was a Cheyenne who was trained to be a Shaman but rejected it in order to join the army during the Vietnam War (or whatever war is closer now.) He lost his arm and leg in a battle where he uses the soul of his fallen comrades to win a battle. He later created an artificial arm and leg for himself. He then began working for the government where he create a device to detect new mutants as well as a ray to neutralize a mutants power. However, a corrupt government agent tried to use this on Rogue but instead hit Storm, causing her to lose her power. Outraged by this, Forge rescued Storm when she fell into a river. Out of guilt, he joined the X-men and began a relationship with Storm but soon broke up when she learnt he was responsible for the ray that stole her powers.

He later fought against the Dire Wraiths which saw him invited and update ray to use against them which cause his older ray to become obsolete and were thus destroyed. He later restored Storm’s power and would later return to the X-men as a tech support. He would later made the team leader of the government sponsored X-Factor where he began a relationship with Mystique. He quit the team after Sabretooth went rampaged. He then help free Genosha from Exodus’s rule and rejoined the X-men as a support staff.

On the request of Xavier, he began working with Mystique to track down a murderer before helping X-force and Deadpool track down Cable. He sent Madrox and Layla to the future during the Messiah Complex but was shot by Bishop. Being betrayed by a friend cause him to become isolated and paranoid. Driven mad, he opened a portal to the Ghost Boxes but was stopped by the X-men. He later joined Cable’s X-Force, which saw him recreate his inventions and help him cure his insanity. After being Dazzler’s manager for a while, he became a support staff for Storm’s team as they were in the Limbo dimension. He was essential in order to destroy the Terrigen Cloud during the Inhuman Vs X-men war.

Forge is not someone most people would know about outside the comic. However he has gotten a few figures over the years. During the dark days of Marvel Legends, he was part of a 2-pack with Wolverine, but that was extremely hard to find. He later got a new updated figure in the Caliban wave.

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends X-men Caliban Wave Forge OR X-men 60th Anniversary Box set – Fogre with Storm and Jubilee

  • Background:
    • Not much of a man of action, when Forge was first a member of the X-men, he wore his own version of the X-men’s training uniform. This, however, would become his classic design, to which again many costumes are based on.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • This is a fan favourite character and is needed for your 90’s X-men team where he was both Gold and Blue teams’ support. This could also be used for the X-factor team (though there is a slight difference between the two.)
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.

Below you will find a gallery of suits that still need to be made. I have included what I think are the possibilities of them being made. Note that these are my personal opinions and not fact. Please let me know if I have missed anything.
