Frank Miller introduced Elektra in Daredevil #168 (1981) for one purpose. To be killed off. However, the character was so popular that Frank Miller had to resurrect her a few issues later. Starting out, Elektra was the college lover of Matt Murdock, before her father was killed. She left Matt and trained in martial arts by the Chaste but left and joined the Hand before returning to Hell’s Kitchen where he reunited with Matt, who was now Daredevil. She eventually was made into the Kingpin’s assassin before being killed off in a scene that’s has now become one of the most iconic images in comic history with Bullseye stabbing her through the heart with her own sai.

After being resurrected and being restrained by the Chaste, she eventually tried to do some good in her life but usually ends up killing her enemies. She teamed up with the likes of Wolverine and Punisher and was one of the members of Red Hulk’s Thunderbolts.

As for figure, she hasn’t had alot and few really have been good. The TB ones had good articulation but (as was usually the case with TB female sculpt) looked ugly and badly proportioned while the Hasbro was short and had very little articulation. Hasbro has recently released a much better updated version in the SP//DR wave. She would receive an update to her white costume in the Pulse Exclusive Daredevil box set.

Have

Classic Red

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends Spider-man SP//DR Wave Elektra

  • Background:
    • Elektra in her most famous costume to which most of her costume have been based on. It is based on the Hand ninja red costume but redesigned to suit herself.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • Both Hasbro and TB released a version of this before. Both were rather bad and extremely outdated. Hasbro released an updated version and she looks fantastic. Definitively get the SP//DR wave one as it is the best of them.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.

Resurrected White

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Pulse Exclusive Marvel Legends Daredevil: Man With Fear Box set – Elektra with Daredevil and Bullseye

  • Background:
    • After Elektra was killed by Bullseye, The Hand stole her body to resurrect her into one of their slaves. DD, with the help of Black Widow, prevented this from happening and defeated the Hand. As the building they were fighting in was about to collapse, DD notice a faint heartbeat in Elektra and tried to use his own spirit to bring her back. He collapse and was dragged out by Black Widow. Elektra somehow survived and in the last panel of that story she is seen in this costume, which is to symbolise her purified soul.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • This is an important part of the Elektra mythos but unless you are a big fan of her, it can be skipped.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.

All-New, All Different (Kinda!?)

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends Marvel Knight Man-Thing Wave Elektra

  • Background:
    • After the success of her appearance in the Netflix second series of Daredevil, Marvel decided to redesign the character to appear similar to her TV counterpart.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • Okay, yeah the design is slightly difference but it is extremely close to the comic book version. If you have no comic book Elektra, or any Elektra at that, then I highly recommend this one.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No. Just about to get release so no need.

Daredevil

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends Spider-man Retro Wave 3 – Daredevil

  • Background:
    • When Daredevil pleaded guilty to murder, Elektra vowed to him that he would keep Hell’s Kitchen by becoming the new Daredevil. Even when Matt was freed, she would continue the role alongside Matt.
  • Why do you need it for your collection?
    • If you want a modern version of the character you can get this as well as part of a Daredevil/Elektra collections. It would also be needed for a Devil’s Reign collection.
  • Does it need a remake?
    • No.

Below you will find a gallery of suits that still need to be made. I have included what I think are the possibilities of them being made. Note that these are my personal opinions and not fact. Please let me know if I have missed anything.
