This is possibly the cruelest thing the Skrull’s did during the Secret Invasion. Introduced in Civil War: The Return #1 (2007) by Tom Raney and Paul Jenkins, Khn’nr was selected by the Skrull’s to become a sleeper agent for their invasion. In order to do this, he was given the same cancer as the real Captain Mar-Vell as well as false memories, making him believe he was the reveal Kree hero. He woke up in a Skrull ship and believing himself to be the real thing, attacked the Skrulls and escaped into the Negative Zone. He would be found by Sentry and brought to Earth. When the heroes scanned him, they believed he was authentic and thought that he was sent into the future after his fight with Nitro. Thinking that he will eventually return to the past, he was placed in charge of Prison 42.

He would try and become more of a hero, fighting villains and the Avengers from time to time. He would later meet Mar-Vell’s son, Teddy Altman (aka Hulkling), and they had a talk about the young hero’s origins. Skipping a bit, he would eventually regain his true memories and attack the Thunderbolt Mountain but he couldn’t bring himself to kill them. Turning against the Skrulls, he went into space and attacked the Skrull fleet but was stopped by the Super-Skrull. He crashed landed on Earth where he encountered Noh-Varr who he convinced to take on the legacy of Captain Marvel before dying in the young Kree’s arms.

Since Khn’nr appears exactly like Mar-Vell, any of the previous classic Captain Marvel would work for this character.

Civil War

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends the Avengers Gamerverse Abomination Wave – Mar-Vell

  • Background:
    • Through out most of his appearance, Khn’nr took the appearance of Mar-Vell, believing that his battle with Nitro (the one that gave him cancer) had flung him into the future. As such, he would wear Mar-Vell’s classic costume.
  • Why do you need it for your collection?
    • Many will just use this figure as the Mar-Vell figure but if you want to recreate scenes from the Civil War towards the Secret Invasion, you may want to get this figure for that.
  • Does it need a remake?
    • No.
