Every time he tried to pick a name to go with the Captain moniker, he got sued or beaten up or beaten up then sued. Introduced in Nextwave #1 (2006) by Warren Ellis and Stuart Immonen, the man who would become the Captain was wandering alcoholic when he encounter 2 aliens, who gave him powers in order to make Brooklyn a better place to live. He then used these powers to beat the alien and vomited on them afterwards. Shortly after this he was one of the heroes kidnapped and brainwashed by the Beyond Company and taken to an alternate universe as part of the Next wave team. The team would remain in this universe for a year, having adventures until they were sent back to the 616 universe, where they lost their memories of the events. He was later seen in a bar and later teamed up with Nova before going back to drinking.

There a good number of people who were fans of the Nextwave comic, in particular the original hero of the Captain. We have gotten most of the members (granted only Elsa in the right costume) with the Captain being the only member left. Maybe because he is more obscure then the rest, he would receive a figure as a Pulse Con Exclusive 2-pack with MELVIS.

  • Background:
    • Beside the teams all wearing trenchcoats, the Captain has no costume. The only other thiing that can be considered a signature look is the black star T-shirt. He wore this look through most of his run in Nextwave.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • If are a fan of Nextwave, then you will need this. Otherwise, except for maybe a civilian, there is no real reason to get him as he hasn’t been seen much since.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.
