Jane Foster was the first person to left Mjolnir and gain the powers of Thor.(Hell, she wasn’t even the third). Introduced in Thor #337 (1983) by Walter Simonson, Bill is an alien whose planet was attacked and destroyed by Surtur. He was choosen by his people to fight off the demons while they escaped. He survived and eventually his ship, the Skuttlebutt, arrived in the Milky Way, where Thor, on request from Nick Fury, went to see what they were. They fought and Thor was separated from his hammer. This cause him to return to Donald Blake. Bill then picked up the hammer and became a new version of Thor. When they arrived on Earth, Odin transported them to Asgard, where the two battled for the right to wield the hammer. Bill won but instead turned over the Hammer to Thor. Impressed by this show of valor, Odin made him a similar hammer he named Stormbreaker.
Since then Bill has become one of Thor greatest ally. So much so, that they pair even considers themselves brothers in arms. He would even be part of the Thor corps. He later gain cosmic powers as part of the Star Masters but lost them soon after. He even tried to help the Asgardian during Ragnarok. After he was sent home by Thor, he fought Galactus who destroyed his races second home. He was believed killed in a battle with Asteroth but somehow wound up in the body of a homeless veteran Simon Walters. He eventually found himself in Canada where he aided Omega Flight but became trapped in the Realm of the Great Beasts. He somehow separated from Simon Walter only to become a prisoner of the Skrulls during the Secret Invasion. Freed later he then went about trying to kill Galactus in revenge for his home. During the war against the Cancerverse, he joined a new team of cosmic heroes known as the Annihilators. He later happened upon Thor (who was going by Odinson with Foster as Thor) and offered up his Stormbreaker to him. Thor of course refused and the 2 teamed up to prevent the Collector from gaining the hammer from the Ultimate Universes’ Mjolnir.
Bill has always been a fan favorite for Thor fans. He has had a few figures over the years. The first ML figure was part of the last series of Toy Biz’s Marvel Legends in his classic costume (which by the way had to same legs on my one). Hasbro has a figure in one of their Avenger:End Games waves.

Recommend Figure: Toy Biz Marvel Legends MODOK series Beta Ray Bill
- Background:
- When Bill first fought Thor, thinking he was a danger to his people, he manage to separate Thor from Mjolnir which turned him back into Donald Blake. Curious about this change, Bill picked up the hammer and was turned into a new version of Thor. He later gave back the hammer and receive his own hammer, Stormbreaker.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- This is the version most people would want if they collect classic versions of characters. It is a must for Thor, Avengers, Omega Flight and Cosmic fans. BUT! It was part of the last series of Marvel Legends from Toy Biz, which was hard to find at the time, so it might be hard to find now.
- Does it need a remake?:
- Yes. Like I said the older figure was hard to get and does need an update.
Unworthy Thor

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends Avengers: Endgame Wave 2 Beta Ray Bill
- Background:
- Odinson, having given up the Thor mantle to Jane Foster, learnt that there was another unclaimed Mjolnir in the universe (the Ultimate Thor’s hammer) and went on a quest to find it. He met and fought Bill who offered up his Stormbreaker to him. Odinson refused and they went to prevent other from gaining the hammer.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- This is the most recent version of Bill that has appeared in the comic, so it is nice if you want a more recent version of him. It is a nice version to get if you want a Bill and don’t want to pay Ebay prices for the older one. Needed for some modern Thor stories.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No.

Below you will find a gallery of suits that still need to be made. I have included what I think are the possibilities of them being made. Note that these are my personal opinions and not fact. Please let me know if I have missed anything.
