Ideal Wave: X-men Version 1

Last week I did a Ideal wave for Thor, which to my surprise was one of the most view post that week, to which I then asked you lot what you would like as the next Ideal wave would be. 57% of you wanted to know what my version of a X-men wave was so here it is.

The X-men line has been Hasbro best waves of the last 2 year. If it wasn’t for the Marvel Vs Fox shit, I say we would have a X-men line just like the Spider-man Line. But none the less with X-men being regulated to 1 wave per year, Hasbro has been putting the A+ game into each wave, with the second wave FAAAAAR surpassing the first wave (basically cause the first wave was just full of remakes). Hasbro usually throws in a comic book character from one of the movies so we have to keep that in mind as well.

As always here are the rules but I’m adding 2 new rules as well.

  • 6-8 figures per wave. No more. No less.
  • Some version of the Title hero most be in it (for X-men that character is Wolverine)
  • 1 or 2 Female per wave.
  • 1 or 2 Villains per wave, but these could be Villain as well.
  • 1 or 2 brand new character that has never been done before
  • 1 or 2 remakes. The Remakes can also be new costumes as Like Classic Spider-man or Iron Spider.
  • Each wave most have a Theme ie Spider-man can include Street Level heroes or Iron Man can include Tech Heroes and villains.

The Theme for this wave: Mutants

So let’s get started with the hero.

1. Wolverine (X-23)

Hey, I never said the Wolverine figure had to be Logan. Taking one of the 2 female slots in this wave and the main slot is of course X-23’s Wolverine costume. TB did 2 years ago but they were comic book accurate. I’m personally loving her run of Wolverine and will be sad to see her go when Logan returns. This figure will use the Teenage female build with interchangeable hand and an unmask. I would love if they included something with the foot claw but I wouldn’t fault Hasbro for not including them. This figure could also be repainted into other costumes as well.

Came in the Deadpool’s Sauron wave

2. Storm (Giant Size X-men)

Taking the next female spot is the weather witch, Storm. Storm is a character I feel that neither company has gotten right over the years. Now while I would love to see Hasbro’s version of Jim Lee’s costume, I think it’s about time that Hasbro does the Giant-Size X-men version. They teased the costume during the very first fan poll but that lost to AOA Sunfire. This figure would use the Moonstone build with a new cloth goods cape and a swappable head with her blue eye and calm hair and one with her storm eye and hair.

3. Gambit (Jim Lee)

Next spot will be taken up by the popular character, Gambit. While we would likely get one nearer to the supposed movie, I think Hasbro should jump the gun and give us a remake of his most popular costume in the Jim Lee costume. This one could use Bucky Cap build with new head, arms and jacket. To make it’s even better, they should include a remolded effect that Bullseye has was cards instead of knives. The boa staff is a must but I know if Hasbro would include it or not.

Confirmed for 2019

4. Nightcrawler (Astonishing X-men)

Now onto one of my favourite X-men is Nightcrawler. TB did the Giant-Size X-men version so I’m thinking that a more modern version is needed, so I think the Astonishing X-men version would be best. An easy repaint, this could use the Pizza Spidey with new feet, hands and a new hip with a tail. I think they could include a sword but it’s not necessary.

5. Toad

Now time for some villains and under the name of Brotherhood of Mutants we have Toad. Now if you have read my page on Toad you know that the original Toad figure was extremely hard to find even though it was a shit figure. So I think it’s time for him to be remade. I don’t really mind which version they use as long as it not the Janitor one. This would call for a new build maybe a new chubby build that can be use for other characters like DOC OCK.

6. Avalanche

The Second part of the Brotherhood of Mutants is the earth shaken Avalanche. TB tried to do now in their Classic line but that was a original design and not actually comic book accurate. ( I still use it for my display though) This would use a hodgepodge of part from the likes of Whirlwind and Taskmaster. It should also come with the Havok effects, to demonstrate his powers.

7. Bastion

The final of the regular figure is Bastion. The human like Sentinel has been one of the X-men most dangerous foes as he was the one behind the Zero Tolerance project, which saw the government capturing mutant to put in prison. It was soon discovered that he was a combination of Mastermold and Nimrod and was using common humans as new cyborg Prime Sentinels against their will (thus was the creation of Omega Sentinel.) This figure use the Spider-UK, but the only accessory I can think of is a alternate robotic head. There is a reason I think he should be in this wave and that is……………….

BAF: Nimrod

There are 3 things that people want as a X-men BAF, Sauron, Prof X’s hoverchair and of course Nimrod. I pick Nimrod as it would be the easiest to make (and it’s my favourite of the 3. It’s my list!) The highly advance Sentinel from beyond the Day’s Of Future Past timeline, it was sent back in time to hunt down mutants and insure their future. (Yes just like the Terminator.) It may be a hot pink robot but it’s one that as given the X-men a run for there money. This can use a remold version of the Space Venom build.

Well that it for the X-men. Thoughts? Do you guys think they come true?

I’ll be doing another Ideal wave tomorrow and next week in preparation for the SDCC and the week of the SDCC I will be given my prediction and then a small break and I recover from the excitement of that convention. See Ya then.
