She is the Zombie wizard of Strange Academy. Introduced in Strange Academy #1 (2020) by Skottie Young and Humberto Ramos, Zoe comes from a long-line of magician but Zoe struggled with her magic causing her to fall into depression, fearing she would end their family line. This cause her to seek aid from Gaslamp, a dark mage who sold her a wish to boast her powers. However, the power fade and she kept going back to Gaslamp. The effect on her bpdy cause her to die. Her parents with to the grave of Marie Laveau, their ancestor and voodoo priest. The spirit of Marie resurrected Zoe but the damage to her body cause her to take a Zombie appearance. She had to wear an amulet to hide her appearance.

Zoe was enrolled in Strange Academy, a school to teach the next generation of Magician and ran by Dr. Strange and his college. She became roommates with demon Dezzy. Dezzy revealed that she knew of Zoe’s true appearance and the pair became friends and later lovers. Zoe would later reveal her origins to her classmates when they visited Marie’s grave. She would later confronted Calvin Morse along with Dr. Voodoo, when her follow student tried to use Gaslamp to regain his powers. Calvin was expelled. Even though she hit a rough time when Dezzy sided against the teachers, the couple would remain together.
