Ironically, this lady probably has the most stable marriage in all of comic books. Introduced in Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #3 (1984) by Jim Shooter and Mike Zeck, Mary was a short plain person that was constantly daydreaming of a better life. She and her friend Marsha Rosenberg were targeted by bullies in her school and even into her adulthood. When Julia Carpenter’s Spider-woman began appearing in Denver and having the same hair as Mary, she began lying and saying she was Spider-woman. This saw her popularity rise and being invited to parties. During one of these parties, the party was transported to Battleworld and they were rescued by the real Spider-woman. Realizing they were tricked, the bullies began chasing her and Marsha into the forest, where found by Dr. Doom. Doom offered then a chance at revenge and gain them power, Mary becoming Titania and Marsha becoming Volcana.
While one Battleworld, she met and fell in love with Absorbing man and during one of her first outings, she fought She-Hulk beginning a life long rivalry began the two. After returning home, they joined the Masters of Evil, where they began recruiting members into the team. While Zemo and the rest attacked the Avengers’ mansion, she robbed a bank and was defeated by Spider-man. Along with Creel, she was assigned to attack and kill Hercules but were prevented by Wasp and Ant-man (Lang). They were shrunken down and sent to the Vault. She later escaped during the Armor Wars, when Iron Man attacked the Guardsmen, who were using his stolen tech. She would rampage in Washington to get She-Hulk to fight her. After a number of fights, she surrendered to the police.
She would later join the Frightful Four with Wizard, Klaw and Hydro-man and succeeded in defeating the F4 with the aid of Dragon Man and Aron, the rogue Watcher. The F4 would later return to defeat the Frightful Four but Aron held both teams in suspended animation. They were later freed and the villains were teleported to the Vault. During the Act of Vengeance, she was sent to fight Spider-man but he was powered up with the Captain Universe powers. After an attempted revenge against Spider-man, she was sent back to the Vault but joined the Femizons after, fighting Captain America and Paladin. She was later reunited with Absorbing man. They confessed their love for each other and tried to live a normal life but she was too consumed with revenge against She-Hulk.
After a battle with the Town Called Hulk, she asked Creel to marry her, which he agreed. When Obsorn offer a reward for the capture of Spider-man after Osborn’s framing of him for murder, the couple took the design of Thunder Girl and Lighting Bolt to try and get the reward but were soundly defeated. After a battle with cancer, her obsession with She-Hulk continue to grow and she would continue to torment her, getting her ass handed to her each time. She was then offered the Power Gem by the Champion of the Universe, in order for them both to get revenge. She would fight She-Hulk and nearly defeated her until She-Hulk managed to get the gem and used it against her. She was shrunk and sent to the Lang Memorial Penitentiary. She would later clash with She-Hulk again and later X-factor’s Investigation during the Civil wars.
She would later be transform into Skirn by obtaining one of the Hammer of the Serpent during Fear Itself but didn’t do anything noteworthy before being turned by after the defeat of the Serpent. This cause her to want to give up her criminal ways. She-Hulk managed to get her a job at a pawn shop but was fired when the place was robbed and she tried to stop it. She clashed with Luke Cage and Iron Fist before being rescued by the Hood. She joined his Illuminati but when Hood suggested they target the friends and family of their enemies, she would clash with him and tore his Hood. She returned to a life of crime. She later learned that her husband had sacrificed his live to protect Black Bolt, so she vowed to protect the Inhuman against his enemy and was later reunited with her resurrected husband. The couple would later join Gamma Flight, aiding the Hulk in his battle against Roxxon. They would stay on the team until it was disbanded.
