She is worshiped as a goddess for more then just her weather-based powers. Introduced in Giant-Size X-men #1 (1975) by Len Wein and Dave Cockrum, when the original X-men were captured by Krakoa, Prof X recruited a new international team of mutants to save the original. Storm, who Prof X had encountered many years before when she pick pocketed him, was being worshiped as a goddess by an African tribes. She joined the team and helped rescued the second. After the Dark Phoenix saga, she took over as leader of the team after Cyclops left mourning for the death of Jean. She eventually lost her power but remained the leader of the team. Her powers eventually returned.
She not only led the X-men but also became the leader of the Morlocks after winning the right to lead by defeated Callisto in a fight. She also married Black Panther but they separated after Namor attacked Wakanda during the AVX. While she was married, she also joined him as a member of the Fantastic Four and he was the one who recommended her for the Avengers. However, she would always return to the X-men.
Storm has had a few figures over the years. Toybiz released a Jim Lee version in their Marvel Legends line which was repainted and re-released as part of their X-men line. Hasbro then made a version as part of the hard to find TRU exclusive Jubilee wave. They then release a Punk version as part of their X-men Apocalypse wave with them releasing an updated Jim Lee version in white as part of their Vintage wave and later in black as a fan channel exclusive. As part of the X-men movie 20th line, they released a first appearance version in a 2-pack with Thunderbird. She would receive another figure as part of the X-men 60th line in a 3-pack with Forge and Jubilee.

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Target Excluisve Marvel Legends X-men Movies 20th Anniversary 2-pack – Storm with Thunderbird
- Background:
- When the original X-men were capture by Krakoa, Prof X traveled to Kenya where he had heard stories of a goddess that could control the weather. This turned out to be Storm, who he recruited into the Giant-Size X-men team. She would remain with that team throughout the tenure, eventually becoming the team leader.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- This has been a long time coming. This has been one of the most requested figure for Storm ever. If you have been collecting since the start, we now have a near complete team of Giant-Size X-men. This is also a most for any Storm fans as it is one of her most important costume.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No.
Punk

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends X-men Apocalypse Wave Storm
- Background:
- After meeting Yukio on a trip to Japan for Wolverine’s wedding to Mariko, she was influenced into giving herself a new look, include the now iconic mohawk. It was while she was wearing this costume that she lost her power. It was also during this time that she defeated Cyclops for true leadership, when she had no powers.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- While this is the best ML version of Storm so far (one I will be putting up for display) and unless you are a big Storm fan, I think this one could be skipped. Though it is iconic and can be used in a diarama with Cyclops.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No.
Training Suit

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends X-men 60th Anniversary 3-pack – Storm with Jubilee and Forge
- Background:
- For a short while, all the X-men wore the same training suit that the original X-men wore. It was shortly replaced with the Jim Lee style soon after.
- Why do you need it for your collection?
- If you are building up this particular version of the X-men, you will need this figure. Otherwise skip.
- Does it need a remake?
- No.
Jim Lee’s Gold Strike Team

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends X-men Vintage Wave Storm OR Fan Channel Exclusive Marvel Legends X-men Vintage Storm
- Background:
- Storm had been leading the team for years but when the original X-men and more members rejoined the team, Prof X decided to split the team into 2 one lead by Cyclops (Blue team) and one lead by Storm. This is also the costume she most famously wore during the 90’s cartoon.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- This is the most famous costume of Storm and is needed to recreate the Gold team of the X-men.
However I would recommend waiting as Hasbro has promised us we will be getting a new version at some point.Boy did I call it. Yeah get the Hasbro version. In fact, if you had to get only one, get that one. It should be noted that the color of the costume is always up for debate so either the regular wave or the Fan Channel will do.
- This is the most famous costume of Storm and is needed to recreate the Gold team of the X-men.
- Does it need a remake?:
- NO.
X-Force

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Toy-R-Us Exclusive Marvel Legends X-men Jubilee Wave Storm
- Background:
- After the AVX arc, Storm left the Avengers and Cyclops team and went to work in Wolverine’s school. She also separated from Black Panther. Needing a change, she got Wolverine to cut her hair. They then started a relationship.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- I wouldn’t even attempt to try and search for this figure unless you have money to throw away. It’s not even an important costume anyway.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No.
