This guy would have been Ross Geller’s best friend. Introduced in Marvel Team-Up #19 (1973) by Len Wein and Gil Kane, Vincent Stegron was once an assistant of Curt Connors, who was working for SHIELD on studying dinosaur DNA supplied by Ka-Zar from the Savage Land. Vincent stole the DNA and Connor’s lizard formula to combine the two. Fleeing to the Savage Land, he ingested the formula and became Stegron the Dinosaur Man. Connors contacted Spider-man, who traveled to the Savage Land to find Stegron ruling over a tribe of Swamp Men. With the aid of Ka-Zar, they defeated Stegron who fled to New York. He later led a stampede of dinosaurs but was stopped by Spidey and Black Panther.

He would later return and kidnapped Billy Connors, Curt’s son, to try and force Curt to work with him. However, the pressure of the kidnapping of his son caused Curt to turn into the Lizard and attack Stegron. However, since it was December, he was defeated due to the cold. He would eventually turn into back into a human and became a vagrant when she was hit by a Nuclear Blaster by accident by The Vulture turning back into Stegron. He would try to steal the Blaster to create a race of Dino people but was caught up in a fight with Spider-man and a number of his foes. Taking a more savage mind, He would eventually travel back to the Antarctica and attacked a SHIELD based, killing a few agents before being stopped Thunderstrike, Black Widow and Black Panther. He would be released into the wild trying to get back to the Savage Land but failing, freezing in a glacier instead.

He would eventually thaw and became involved in a battle with Spidey, his allies and Roxxon Oil in the Savage Land. Initially working with Roxxon, he would join the hero side to defeat the corporation. He would eventually team up with Sauron and tried to turn the world into dinosaur people but were stopped by Spider-man and a misfit class of X-men students. He would began working for Alchemax but stole their equipment. They sent Venom to capture him who had the aid of Moon Girl and Devil Dino. He would become the love interest of Aarchon, a fellow Dino/human hybrid, who wanted to breed with him to begin a race of Dino people, but he didn’t want to. He fled and encountered Spider-boy and the new Kidpool. Aarchon attacked them and when he saw her Dino minion fell for her and joined her. They were knocked out by Kidpool.
