He is known for two things. Neither of them portrays this hero in a favorable light. Introduced in Iron Man #55 (1972) by Jim Starlin, Eros is the younger brother of Thanos and his near complete opposite. Where Thanos was focused on death, Eros was focused on life and enjoying it. He would take one many lovers and would be considered a party seeker. It wasn’t until Thanos first attack on Titan, and he helped Mar-Vell and the Avengers defeat him, that Eros started taking life seriously. He traveled the stars and took on a few lovers and became friends with Pip the Troll. He would return to Titan when his friend Mar-Vell was on his death bed. Mar-Vell made him promise to look after his lover Elysius but Elysius knew Eros wanted to explore the star and released him from his promise.

After consulting ISAAC, Eros went to Earth and approached the Avengers and asked them to become a member. They accepted him and he was given the codename Starfox. He would serve the team for many years until an encounter with Nebula, who claimed to be Thanos’ granddaughter, thus his grandniece, caused him to resign from the role. He went to chase after her, alongside Firelord. He spent many months chasing her before he was summoned alongside her in front of Thanos, who had gained the Infinity Gauntlet. Once Thanos was defeated, he took Nebula into custody on Titan.

He would return to his star journey and would return to aid the Avengers several times. After Morgan LeFay tried to transform the Earth into her medieval kingdom, he would return to travel the star, this time alongside Tigra. They would answer the call to aid Quasar with other Avengers against Servator of the Infinities. He later returned to Titan where Thanos attacked and captured him. He was rescued by the Avengers. He would later help his adopted son, Genis-Vell battle Thanotos, a future version of Rick Jones. He was later accused of sexual assault and rape, with the woman accusing him of using his powers to make her sleep with him. He hired She-Hulk, who he used his powers to push her into a relationship and later marriage to John Jameson, to be his lawyer and during the trail, She-Hulk concluded that he may have use his power on her before. Not wanting to be found guilty he escaped prison but not without infuriating She-Hulk. Later he would be put on Titan trail, with the Living Tribunal being the judge and She-Hulk as the prosecutor. After a grueling trail, it was revealed that Thanos had arranged for Eros’ powers to go out of control. Moondragon shut down his powers.

Years later, his power were restored and he was seen flirting with woman on Titan. He swore never to use his powers on others. Titan was attacked and assimilated by Ultron. He fled and went to the Avengers for help in defeating Ultron. He was eventually recruited by his nephew Thane along with Nebula in order to kill Thanos. However after Thane was bonded with the Phoenix, his nephew became unstable so Eros went to Titan to ask for Thanos’ help. The brothers went to the God Quarry, with Thanos passing the trail to gain the power of the Quarry and defeating his son.

After his brother was killed by Gamora, Eros found his body and his will. He showed this will, which said that he would resurrect in someone else’s body, to others but were attacked by the Black Order, who cause Eros’ and other to be sucked into a rip in the ships haul. Starfox escaped by one side of his body was scarred. Together with Nebula, the Cosmic Ghost Rider, Gladiator, and Wraith, he formed the Dark Guardians and began hunting down the person who they believe would inherit Thanos’ soul, Gamora. They attack Nova (Rider), believing he would help them find his ex-girlfriend. They captured Nova and Gamora and brought her in front of Starfox. Starfox revealed his plan and had order Gladiator to kill her until they were stopped by Hela and the Black Order, who revealed it wasn’t Gamora that would inherit Thanos’ soul. It was Starfox. Moment later, Thanos took over Starfox’s body and escaped with the Black order to Knowhere. He began transfer his soul to his old body. The GOTG and Dark Guardians attacked Knowhere. Gamora had no choice but to kill her uncle, who thanked her. But it was all in vain as Thanos was resurrected.

He would later be resurrected by the Machine back on Earth and imprisoned by the Eternals. When the Eternal decided to bring a war to the X-men because of their resurrection protocol and with the resurrect of Progenitor, who decided to judge the Earth, Sersi worked with Jack of Knifes to free him. Rejecting the need to increase his powers, he instead began negotiating with the world’s leaders, trying to unite them. He was the voted the Eternal Prime and tried to negotiate with him to stop his judgement of Earth…. He failed.
