She is the break out star of the Spider-verse, mostly because of her design. Introduced in Edge of Spider-Verse #2 (2014) by Jason Latour and Robbi Rodriguez, in the universe, it was Gwen Stacy that gained the Spider powers not Peter Parker. However, like the prime Spider-man, she tried to use these power to gain fame as Spider-woman. While she was doing this, her childhood friend Peter Parker was constantly being bullied, which cause him to take the Lizard formula and become the Lizard. He then attacked the school and fighting Spider-woman, nothing knowing he was Peter. He would turn back to human and die in Gwen’s arms. Spider-woman was blamed for Parker death and she would become a fugitive from the law, even her own father who would later learn of his daughter secret.

Right after this, she was recruited by Spider-UK into the fight against the Inheritors. During this, she would experience the lost of another Peter, when she was sent to recruit a Peter Parker who was driven mad at the death of his own Gwen and became the Goblin. He was killed by Verna and her hound and she swore revenge. After the war, she returned to her own universe and had to deal with being hunted down by the NYPD, including this universe’s Frank Castle and Kingpin’s minions, who had Matt Murdock as his lawyer. In the Secret Wars storyline, she was sent to a section of battle world that was ruled by Oscorp and joined together with other Spiders to become the Web Warriors.

She returned to her universe and continued fighting crime, including trying to find out where Peter got the Lizard formula, which saw her met this universe’s Captain America (a female Sam Wilson) as well as dealing with her friend Norman Osborn swearing revenge against Spider-woman for the death of Peter Parker. She would later team up with the Prime Universe Spider-woman (Drew) and Silk to battle her universe’s Cindy Moon. She would continue to be hunted by the Punisher, Kraven the Hunter and had to begin working for Matt Murdock. She also began a romantic relationship with Ultimate/Prime Miles Morales as well as gaining her own Venom form. However, she would keep the symbiote. She would be arrested and sent to prison only to be released a year later. As a member of the Web Warriors, she helped Kain in his fight against the Carrion virus as well as helping in the fight against the escaped Inheritors. It was during this that she adopted the name Ghost Spider

Ever since her initial introduction, Spider-Gwen has become an extremely popular character, making the jump from the comic to pretty much anything that has Spider-man, be it TV, Movies and Video Games. So of course she was going to get a few Marvel Legends figures. The first one was part of Hasbro’s Spider-man Absorbing man wave and the second part of a yet unknown wave (but we predict it’s a Venom wave).

Recommend Figure:  Hasbro Marvel Legends Spider-man Absorbing Man wave – Edge of the Spider-verse Spider-Gwen

  • Background:
    • This is the costume that she is most famously known as. It’s mainly because of this design that Spider-Gwen became a popular character. It should also be noted that this costume would later be created by the symbiote.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • If you are building up your Spider-verse collection, then you will need this costume as well as building the Web Warriors. It can also be used with Jessica Drew and Silk.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.

Recommend Figure:  Hasbro Marvel Legends Venom Vemonpool wave – Ghost Spider

  • Background:
    • Spider-Gwen also gained her own version of Venom which had her own costume. She used this costume to after she lost her powers and wanted revenge against Matt Murdock. However, unlike her 616 friends, she actually was able to control the symbiote and kept it, which in turn turned into her old classic costume.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • Believe it or not I actually asked for this version of Venom. Anyhow, If you are a Spider-gwen fan you will need this. It is also essential for a Venomverse collection (but not Spider-verse). However, you can skip it.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.

Below you will find a gallery of suits that still need to be made. I have included what I think are the possibilities of them being made. Note that these are my personal opinions and not facts. Please let me know if I have missed anything.
