Peter wasn’t the only person that the spider bit. Introduced in Amazing Spider-Man Vol 3 #1 (2014) by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos, this Korean-American was at the same science expo that Peter was visiting when he was bit by the radioactive spider. However, the spider didn’t just bite him and bit Cindy too. Knowing that Morlun would eventually track her down, Ezekiels Sims approached Cindy and her family. He locked Cindy away for her own safety and sent her family into hiding. Cindy would spend years in her bunker, even after Morlun’s defeat. However, since Ezekiel died protecting Spider-man, he never told anyone about her. When the Orb stole one of the Watcher’s eyes and unleashed a wave of secrets that the Watcher was protecting, including showing Spider-man about Cindy. He released her and she left the bunker and though on the name Silk. While she was at odds with Peter after learning that Morlun could return, they were attracted to each other and soon become intimate. However, this was because of the nature of their powers and tried to stay away from each other.
Cindy would go to look for her missing family but was dragged into the Spider-verse saga, where she learnt that she was the Spider Totem Bride. Knowing that she was being chase, she left the Spider-army and eventually discovered a world that had been devastated by nuclear war. She later would find a bunker and meet an Uncle Ben who became Spider-man of this world. She was later captured by the Inheritors but was rescued by the Spider-woman. She return home and began searching for his parents and brother again.
She would begin working for the Fact Channel and battled Black Cat when she was the boss of a Superhero gang. She would eventually find her brother just before the universe was destroyed in the Incursions. After Secret Wars and eight months later, it was revealed that she began working for Black Cat’s gang. She would later team up with Spider-Gwen and Jessica Drew’s Spider-woman to battle the Gwen-Verse version of herself. She would help Spider-man in the Clone Conspiracy, taken on the new name of Silkworm to hide her identity and would help him again to defeat the Red Goblin. During the War of the Realms, she joined the all Asian team of Agent of Atlas.
Since her introduction, Silk has been a extremely popular character. So it didn’t come to anyone’s surprise when she got a figure very early after her first appearance. Her first figure was part of Hasbro’s Space Venom wave. She would later be part of a Fan Poll alongside Elektra and Sif, which she won by 57% of the vote.
