Whenever Marvel wants to get rid of some random no name villains, they bring in this guy. Introduced in Iron Man #194 (1985) by Dennis O’Neil and Luke McDonnell, not much is known about this version of Scourge beyond that he was selected by the Scourge of the Underworld organization and trained by Bloodstain. The organization’s goal was to rid the world of superpowered criminals. This Scourge’s first victim was Enforcer. who at the time was working for Madame Masque under Obidiah Stane’s order. Arriving at his hotel, Scourge approached Enforcer dressed as a homeless bag lady and asked for change. Enforcer refused “her”, and Scourge shot him dead with a submachine gun.

His next victim was Miracle Man. During a bus ride that also was carrying the Thing, Miracle Man wanted to intercept the transport that was carrying the Rhino. While Thing and Rhino fought, Scourge killed Miracle Man. He later killed Psycho Man’s Hate Monger after he was defeated by the F4 and about to be captured by She-Hulk before he escaped. After killing Thor’s villain Megatak, he killed tried to kill Phone Ranger, but both would return. He later tried to kill Constrictor after he was beaten by Anaconda but was save by Captain America. He wanted to try and kill Kraven, but Kraven was fighting Tigra at the time and it would have drawn too much attention to him.

He would later kill and replace Melter’s assistant to tried and kill the Melter. His next victim was Basilisk when he disguised himself as a construction worker and later disguised as a garbage man, shot the Fly. He tried to shot Death Adder out of the sky, but the villain ran and tried to get a taxi only for Scourge to be disguised as the Taxi driver. His next victim was Bluestreak. The consent villain’s death brought him to the attention of Captain America and the Avengers. Unaware of this, Scourge choose his next victim to be Diamondback but she was saved by the Serpent Society. Fearing for their safety, Firebrand and a number of villains arranged a meeting to do something about Scourge in the Bar With No Name but Scourge was disguise as the bartender and killed all eighteen villains. Having been informed of the massacre and disguising himself as Mirage, Captain America was taken by Scourge but escaped and fought Cap. Scourge was unmasked but was shot by another Scourge revealing that there was more then one Scourge.

Possible Figures

  • Which has the best chance of being made? – Forget the civilian one as that has no chance of being, this Scourge will have to be the classic all-white skull face version. This could easily be part of a Captain America or Avengers wave and can be used for multiple characters or even an army builder.
  • How can it be made? – This one is rather easy to make. Use the Happy Hogan builder with a new longer jacket overlay with a new head. It should come with his signature machine gun as well as several other weapons like a combat knife or machete.
